?? Exciting News for Fenway CDC! ?? Fenway CDC has been selected to redevelop 27-29 Hancock St. on Beacon Hill into 15 affordable homeownership units, a small step toward addressing that neighborhood's housing needs. In an article in the Beacon Hill Times, Steve Farrell, Fenway CDC's Executive Director, thanked the community for their input and city officials for their partnerships, emphasizing the project’s transformative impact! The development marks a milestone in creating income-restricted housing, supported in part by $1 million in federal funding. Hooray for more affordable housing coming to my neighborhood! I lived across the street from an empty laundromat for over 5 years- now that laundromat will be transformed into 24 affordable apartments developed by the Fenway Community Development Corporation! "The proposal calls for the units - split between studios and one-bedroom apartments - to be rented to people making no more than 60% of?Boston area median income. Some of the units would be rented to people making no more than 30% of that level - and three units would be specifically set aside for people who are coming off homelessness." https://lnkd.in/eqEbKDSd
