The iconic?#FendiBaguette?becomes an objet d’art as the?#FendiHandInHand?project once again extends beyond Italy to showcase the finest craftsmanship from around the world. In Australia, Fendi has collaborated with Australian textile artist Natalie Miller who crafts vibrant tapestries from hand-dyed Merino wool. In contrast to Miller’s typical work, renowned for their grand scale and vivid colour, the artist’s take on the Baguette is a more delicate approach to design. The gentle neutral colour palette of the bag is meticulously chosen to reflect the Southern Highlands’ patchwork fields and golden sunsets. To achieve Miller’s vision, the wool is coloured by hand over an open flame, using organic inks found in local flora and the leaves and bark of the scribbly gum tree native to the east coast of Australia. After the hand-dyeing process, the wool is left to dry for several days before it is set upon a swift and hand-wound into a neatly formed ball. It is then woven on the loom using traditional techniques, from tabby weaving and continuous rya knots to tassels.

The iconic?#FendiBaguette?becomes an objet d’art as the?#FendiHandInHand project once again extends beyond Italy to showcase the finest craftsmanship from around the world. In Korea, Fendi collaborated with local artisan Kim Eun-Young, who has specialised in Maedeup – a traditional craft of tying and fastening a single long string to form multiple shapes in the form of ornamental knots – since 1965. Inspired by the sunset over Munsuam Hermitage in western Goseong, Gyeongsangnam-do, with clouds veiling the view, the colour palette is achieved by dyeing silk threads in sequence with natural and synthetic materials. The bag also incorporates mangsu, traditionally used to adorn the ceremonial attire of the Joseon Dynasty’s kings and queens. Dangling from side knots, peaches symbolising longevity and plum blossoms representing grace, dignity, and elegance are delicately carved from amber, encased in a gilded silver capsule, and embellished with a vibrant red hemispherical garnet. The bag is finished with a vibrated gold galvanised metal buckle, featuring a central insert entirely handcrafted in Baltic amber.

To mark the holiday season, Fendi has partnered with Meta on two immersive AR Instagram filters that bring the Maison's festive set-up to life. The first, available exclusively at the Fendi New Bond Street boutique, is activated when visitors scan a QR code on the boutique window. Viewing the fa?ade through their phone screens, visitors will witness the set-up’s baubles and letters fly through the air in a dazzling display of lights and colours. Available everywhere, the second filter allows users to shape and decorate an augmented reality Fendi holiday tree wherever they are. This filter utilises innovative hand-tracking technology, enabling users to move ornaments, lights, and garlands with a simple tap of their finger. The Maison is pleased to announce the opening of its first boutique located on Calle Ortega y Gasset in Madrid, in the beating heart of the Salamanca district. The new boutique showcases the Womenswear and Menswear collections in an open space where the Maison’s heritage and codes blend with Spanish elements, refined furnishings, and a highly curated mix of materials evocative of the Eternal City. The boutique is completed with artwork carefully selected from Alzueta Gallery, a local contemporary art oasis that represents young, emerging and established artists, from Spain and around the world.
