  • ?? If we can’t talk openly about women’s health, we can’t advance women’s health. ?? As we celebrate #InternationalWomensDay tomorrow, let's address a critical barrier to closing the gender health gap -- silence. #womenshealth remains censored—not just by stigma and embarrassment, but also by algorithms. Brands and organizations working in #femtech face systemic barriers when trying to reach the very people they aim to serve. ?? Check out this powerful video from our friends at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University: https://lnkd.in/gX-2pRY4 An issue that was also recently featured in WIRED: https://lnkd.in/g6EBfZRA —highlighting the terrific work of the Center for Intimacy Justice and their research on how censorship disproportionately affects femtech and sexual health companies. ?? We can't innovate for what we don't acknowledge. And we certainly can't build a thriving women’s health market if it's rendered invisible. The same is true for #AI and LLMs—where the word vagina is among the most censored terms & chatbots will refuse to engage with you if you utilize it. If we don't fix these biases, we are embedding them into the future of healthcare and technology. It's time to talk. It's time to change. #Femtech #WomensHealth #Innovation

  • ?? 70% of women reported losing 1-5 days of productivity in the past month due to untreated or poorly managed health conditions. ?? Only 10% of women agree their employer provides sufficient resources on women's health issues affecting work. ?? 80% of clinicians observe sex and gender differences in treatment progression and response, yet less than 30% feel equipped to address those gaps. And yet, businesses, insurers, and policymakers are making decisions without the right data. We’re flying blind—and it’s costing us. Women’s health issues cost the global economy over $1 trillion annually in lost productivity, absenteeism, and preventable healthcare expenses. For businesses, that translates to tens of thousands of dollars per employee—a cost we can no longer afford to ignore. On March 6, FemTechnology Summit Oriana Kraft will be joining Kearney’s LinkedIn Live event to talk about the [w]Health Index—a tool designed to drive real accountability in women’s health. Healthcare doesn’t need more data. It needs the right data. ORI is mapping the invisible—tracking how women engage with healthcare, what gets overlooked, and how to close those gaps before they become crises. This is an opportunity to reduce losses, cut costs, and generate new revenue by finally aligning healthcare with reality. Because when we prioritize #womenshealth we don’t just create better healthcare—we create stronger businesses, more productive workforces, and thriving economies. Join an incredible panel of leaders to talk about what happens when we finally put women’s health at the center—and why it’s the key to the #futureofwork, #innovation, and economic growth. ?? • Promotional poster for a LinkedIn Live webinar titled "Healthy women, healthy workforce," scheduled for Thursday, March 6, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. CET, hosted by [w]Health. The background is a vibrant purple with light effects.
  • "The #data is undeniable: women are navigating systems that weren’t designed for them, and companies are paying: losing millions in hidden costs because workplace systems fail to support women.” - Oriana Kraft, FemTechnology Summit "A healthcare system built around a one-size-fits-all model fails the workforce. These failures ripple across organizations in tangible ways: lost productivity from untreated health issues, disengagement as employees struggle to balance work and unmet care needs, and missed innovation as talented women are held back or leave roles that don’t support them." - Mary Stutts, MHA, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association “Supporting #womenshealth is more than a #benefits upgrade; it’s a strategic investment that lowers costs, enhances well-being, and sets a new standard for workplace success.” -LaToya Tapscott, CAE, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association These systemic challenges are not personal issues—they’re bad for business, across 42 countries & 1000+ women: ?? 70% of women reported losing 1-5 days of productivity in the past month due to untreated or poorly managed health conditions. ?? 61% have taken time off work for women's health-related issues, often without adequate support or accommodations from their employers. ?? Only 10.14% of women agree their employer provides sufficient education and resources on women's health issues affecting work. ?? Recommendations for Action: 1??? Centralize resources to create a new care model for women’s health 2?? Reconsider how ‘women’s health’ is defined within your organization and what is being done to address it 3?? Invest in listening to women ?? You can read the full report conducted in collaboration with Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, and HBA Think Tank unveiled at #Davos, to explore the clinician gap and actionable solutions here: https://lnkd.in/eSvBgJ89 ?? • ?? "#Womenshealth is a massive market opportunity: physicians and patients are demanding better solutions, and companies—whether pharma, med tech, or insurers—that move first will secure a critical advantage,” - Oriana Kraft, FemTechnology Summit "There's a huge gap in terms of the resources clinicians feel equipped to care for more than half of their patient population - and clinicians are very aware of this gap." - Mary Stutts, MHA, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association “In a world of breakthroughs in medicine—from genomics, precision medicine, and #AI-driven diagnostics—a glaring gap remains: the lack of sex- and gender-specific data and guidelines in healthcare,” -LaToya Tapscott, CAE, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association The clinician gap in women’s healthcare is undeniable: ?? 80+% of physicians observe sex differences in disease progression and treatment response -- Yet fewer than 30% feel equipped with the resources to address these differences. ?? 53% cite insufficient gender-specific research as a major barrier to delivering care. ?? 47% admit systemic biases, including unconscious gender stereotypes, undermine the quality of care patients receive. ?? This lack of training and research leads to: ?? Delayed diagnoses & Misdiagnoses: Women are diagnosed 4 years later than men across 770 diseases and 20-30% more likely to be misdiagnosed compared to men. ?? Ineffective treatments: Medications designed for men often cause higher adverse reactions in women -- women are 1.5 to 2 times more likely than men to experience. ADRs and are more frequently hospitalized due to drug toxicity.? ?? Worse Outcomes: Women with diabetes face a 3-7 fold increase in ischemic heart disease risk compared to a 2-3 fold increase in men These systemic gaps not only harm patients but also place a heavy burden on physicians, for example in our survey 77% percent of cardiologists report moderate to significant challenges in adapting male-centric protocols to female patients. ?? • At JPMorganChase Healthcare Week and #Davos, FemTechnology Summit is unveiling three groundbreaking reports in partnership with the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and the HBA Think Tank that reveal the ripple effects of neglecting women’s health. From clinical care to workplace productivity to how the healthcare leaders of today are thinking about the #AI tools of tomorrow: Here’s a sneak peek at what we uncovered: 1?? Clinicians Are Struggling to Address #womenshealth Needs: - Across specialties like endocrinology, oncology, ophthalmology, cardiology, and neurology, clinicians report critical gaps in tools, training, and data to address the needs of their female patients. - Without updated protocols and robust sex-specific data, inequities remain embedded in diagnostic tools and care pathways. ?? Our 'Hidden Gaps: Unveiling the Impact of Overlooked Women’s Health in Clinical Practice’ report highlights an urgent opportunity for innovators to create solutions for both patients and physicians ready for change. 2?? Women’s Health Challenges Are Draining Workplace Potential From #migraines to #endometriosis to #menopause, untreated health challenges cost billions in lost productivity, absenteeism, and healthcare expenses: - Women report that health-related barriers derail their financial stability, professional growth, and ability to thrive. - Most workplaces still lack the policies and resources to support women’s health effectively. ?? The 'State of Women’s Health in the Workplace' shows how addressing these gaps can drive ROI for employers—while fostering healthier, more productive teams. 3?? Can AI Solve Inequities—or Reinforce Them? AI has the power to revolutionize healthcare, but male-centric datasets and biased algorithms risk hardcoding inequities into healthcare systems. We asked: - Do women trust AI to prioritize their care—or are these tools perceived as amplifying existing biases? - Are healthcare leaders proactively addressing gaps in data collection and equity? - Are healthcare leaders thinking about how to integrate #AI into their practice in ways that account for women’s unique health needs? ?? 'The Knowledge Gap: AI, Data, and the Hidden Costs of Bias in Women’s Health' explores whether AI will be a tool for inclusion—or another missed opportunity to bridge healthcare disparities. Why This Matters Now: The cost of inaction—financial, personal, and systemic—is staggering. But with the right tools, data, and strategies, we can drive real change. Whether you’re a healthcare innovator, employer, or policy leader, the opportunity to transform women’s health has never been more urgent—or more rewarding.
