Being an advocate for #feministvalues does not necessarily equip someone with the #knowledge or #skills required to analyze urban environments through a feminist lens. To draw a parallel: consider #environmentalism and #environmentalurbandesign. While one may be passionate about protecting the environment and advocate for sustainable practices, this passion doesn’t automatically qualify someone to design eco-friendly cities or plan sustainable urban spaces. The latter requires a deep understanding of urban systems, environmental science, and technical expertise. Similarly, #feministurbanism is not just about advocating for gender rights—it involves applying critical analysis to how urban environments can #perpetuate or #mitigate #inequalities, and developing solutions that foster inclusivity in urban spaces. #feministurbanism is a #science, not a booming new word!

We are pleased to announce the Women of the NEB will be at the Festival of the New European Bauhaus on 9-13 April in Brussels. To be held in Parc du Cinquantenaire and the Arts & History Museum, brought to us by the European Commission in cooperation with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024.
