Last Friday, Fempreneur Poder Hub celebrated a major milestone—our one-year anniversary—with a glamorous masquerade gala ?? ??! It was an unforgettable evening filled with joy, inspiration, and connection. We were honored to have the incredible Laura Rodriguez, a renowned Chicago Tribune journalist, as our keynote speaker. Her words left us all deeply inspired and motivated to continue pushing boundaries.
This success wouldn't have been possible without the unwavering support of our amazing board of directors (Jessica Avila-Cuevas, M.Ed.; Samantha Royal; Araceli Morales, M.A.; Jarol Rendon Jimenez; & our new board member Paul Callejas), who have been essential in spreading the word about our mission. The night was filled with delicious food, live music, dancing, and powerful conversations that sparked new possibilities for all of us.
We’re also thrilled to share we were awarded a grant from AMPT: Advancing Nonprofits, an organization dedicated to sustaining investment in the capacity of Chicago’s Black & Latino community organizations. This is a huge step forward for us, as it will enable us to strengthen our programs and better serve our Latine & Black women entrepreneurs in our community. A special thank you to AMPT for believing in our vision and supporting our work!
As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we reflect on the importance of organizations like ours. Women, especially women of color, often find themselves at the center of political debates—whether it’s about our bodies, our economic power, or simply our right to exist as we are. This is why it’s crucial to have spaces where we can thrive and support each other.
I encourage you to learn more about what we do and consider supporting us with a donation. Our goal for next year is to offer micro-grants to women entrepreneurs—because we know many of us fund our businesses from personal savings, only to face challenges when seeking outside funding or damaging our personal credit. By contributing to our cause, you’re helping provide opportunities that can ease these burdens and make a tangible difference for women entrepreneurs. https://lnkd.in/gNM4wSuB
Together, we can empower one another, uplift our communities, and create opportunities for the next generation of women leaders. Let’s continue to sponsor and support each other, especially as women of color, and make a lasting impact!
