In 1929, Virginia Woolf wrote, ?If a woman wishes to write in the early 20th century she requires, at the very least, 500 pounds a year and a room of her own”. A century passed, and in essence, this is very relevant. We need funds and space of our own to realise our full potential ?? ?? Women’s financial health was one of the biggest steps toward female liberation and empowerment. In 2022, A Bank of America study found that 94% of women believe they will be personally responsible for their finances at some point in their lives. However, "only 48% of women feel confident about their finances, and just 28% feel empowered to take action".? Today, we go further and dive into financial management.?Let's talk about cash, baby! Financial management might sound like a scary pair of words, but it is definitely a beneficial one. Do you have a set budget, or play as it lays every month? Here at FeMight, we believe that financial literacy empowers success and confidence in one’s future.? Start by outlining your monthly budget and the income that you have from all your sources. After you have your sum, use the principle of 50-30-20 to manage your expenses: where 50% — is essential such as rent/mortgage, groceries, healthcare/insurance; 30% — is the fun part which is mostly going/eating out, shopping, and subscriptions; 20% — funds for the precious future you! This is where investment in yourself starts, as you are your most valuable asset! Try to see how much you can put aside not only for savings/emergency funds but also for education and self-development.?
