Millions in Title X funding will be withheld from Oklahoma after the U.S. Supreme Court deferred to a lower court’s ruling on the state’s non-compliance with Title X funding requirements. Oklahoma refused to provide abortion information to pregnant clients since it conflicted with statewide abortion laws. Yet the Supreme Court signaled that the federal government, in this instance, the Department of Health and Human Services, can retain funding when grant recipients, including states, do not comply with terms and conditions of their federal awards. Feldesman Partner Carrie Riley and Associate David Mahoney dive deeper into the legal decision and conflicts between state laws and federal funding requirements here: https://lnkd.in/e353cUvq #Feldesman #healthcare #SCOTUS #TitleX #abortion
