Making justice irresistibly delicious.

关于我们

FEEST is an organization led by youth of color in South Seattle and South King County working to improve health in our schools. Our mission is to train youth of color and working class youth to build collective power and organize for transformative and systemic change in their schools Our roots started in food justice and through that, we have won systemic improvements in school food in Highline and Seattle Public Schools. Since the 2020 campaign to remove police from Seattle Public Schools, we have expanded our campaign goals to include a wide range of systemic solutions that improve student wellness at school. Rooted in radical joy, we are building power toward policy changes that increase health and wellbeing for all students.

Right now, in the face of escalating attacks on LGBTQ+ communities—especially trans and non-binary youth—it is more critical than ever to invest in the safety, joy, and leadership of young people. That’s why we’re proud to share the release of our?Washington Youth Initiative report:?Supporting Spaces of Joy, Belonging, and Leadership for LGBTQ+ Youth. This report is the culmination of a two-year, $1.6 million pilot project funded by the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, that provided flexible funding and capacity support to 20 organizations across Washington.?Through this initiative, over 1,940 LGBTQ+ youth gained access to leadership development opportunities, affirming spaces, and essential support—particularly in rural areas and organizations led by Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC). The findings in this report highlight what we’ve long known: when LGBTQ+ youth have access to safe spaces, supportive networks, and community-driven programs, they thrive. But the work isn’t done. Now is the time for funders, policymakers, and all of us to step up, listen to young people, and invest in long-term, sustainable solutions.
