???Exciting Progress at Gatune Farm & Huruma Children’s Home!??? This week, our team visited?Gatune Farm in Ngong, Kenya, and connected with the dedicated teachers and leadership team at?Huruma Children’s Home?as they kicked off the new school year. Together, we explored ways to enhance youth opportunities in agriculture education. ???? Since December 2023, Gatune Farm has cultivated?five acres, established irrigation systems, and supplied?vegetables for 350 Huruma students?since August 2024. This month, we’re welcoming?seven Huruma graduates?to an?agri-business apprenticeship, where they’ll live in Gatune’s new dormitories and gain valuable skills in sustainable agriculture. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to providing?nutrition, education, and opportunities for lasting local impact. Last week, I had the incredible experience of visiting Kabala, Sierra Leone with Feeding Mouths, Filling Minds and Strides For Africa. I was so deeply moved by the impact these two organizations are having on the local communities. I am proud to have been an active supporter, volunteer and board member over the past ten years. Seeing how just one water project benefited local children was simply amazing.

???FMFM Team Visits Koinadugu College in Sierra Leone! We are thrilled to be back at?#Koinadugu College, visiting our incredible partners and witnessing the growth of the?#Badembaia Campus, which welcomed its first cohort of certificate and diploma students last year. Our team’s journey with the campus began in 2019 during its construction phase, and it's inspiring to see dozens of students now enrolled, pursuing their education in this rural community. A special highlight of our visit was FMFM volunteer?Holly Baumgart?guest lecturing in Professor?Jacob Breit’s Environmental Science and Sustainability course. Holly shared valuable insights on food chains and biosphere preservation, emphasizing the critical link between environmental stewardship and food security. We’re proud to be part of this mission to empower future leaders and create sustainable change. As the countdown begins, we’re excited to highlight the?goals?of this journey and the impact we aim to achieve during our time in?#SierraLeone?and?#Liberia. This trip is centered on?deepening partnerships?and ensuring that our projects continue to foster long-term change. We’ll be working closely with local leaders to: ???Evaluate ongoing initiatives—from schools and water projects to economic empowerment programs—ensuring they are sustainable and delivering maximum impact. ???Launch new projects?like the groundbreaking of?Chris & Sherry AgriTech College, which will provide agricultural training to drive local economic growth. ???Support community-led solutions?by meeting with key stakeholders, like the County Education Officer in Liberia, to ensure we’re aligning with local needs and goals. ?? Strengthen our?Women’s Economic Empowerment Program, visiting communities to assess progress and strategize new opportunities for growth. Our focus remains clear: empowering children and communities through sustainable food sources and education. This trip is about?learning from our partners on the ground?and continuing to invest in their leadership as they drive positive, lasting change. We can’t wait to see the impact firsthand and share this journey with you! ??

Women's support groups like this are key to building?sustainable futures?– providing not just food security, but also economic independence. These women are not only feeding their families but are also creating new income opportunities for their community. Every year, my small team spends a lot of time tracking, measuring the #impacts of our #social and #environmentally #responsible #actions taken by Evolution Marketing A Certified B Corp. We also prioritize sharing these #impacts in a #transparent manner with our #stakeholders. It is my hope, that if your business is beginning on its #Sustainability #ESG journey and you are looking for #practical operational actions to take, you will find "doable" actions within this report to adopt. We are a small business that has taken strategic sustainability actions yearly since 2007, and we have learned a lot in the process....please take our learnings and apply them to your #organization.
