ABB has been "Turning Hunger Into Hope" with their annual holiday fundraiser! What started as a canned food drive has since blossomed into a U.S. employee online and canned food drive, plus an in-house team competition. ?? ABB's values of courage, care, curiosity, and collaboration have flowed into our communities – nurturing the lives of our neighbors facing hunger. Thank you to the employees and ABB leadership team who have been increasingly generous over the last five holiday seasons! #ABBUS #ABBNorthAmerica #ABBintheCommunity ?? The United States is facing its highest levels of food insecurity since the Great Recession. Nearly 50 million Americans, including 14 million children, are struggling with hunger—a crisis we cannot ignore. As our CEO, Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, reminds us, “Those lines we saw during the pandemic haven’t disappeared—they’ve just moved indoors.” The challenge remains urgent, but with awareness and action, we can create long-term solutions to reduce the need for food assistance permanently. Here’s how you can make a difference: ? Visit FeedingAmerica.org to locate your local food bank. ? Donate, advocate, or volunteer to support your community. ? Join us in supporting national efforts to reach areas with the greatest need. In the short interview, Claire also shares gratitude for the farmers, growers, and producers who play an essential role in fighting hunger. Together, with unity and determination, we can make an incredible impact. #EndHunger #FoodInsecurity #TakeAction ?? Listen here: bit.ly/494bH0Y

As we prepare to gather with loved ones, the stress and strain of hunger can dim the sparkle of the holiday season for many of our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Strong federal food assistance programs like The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) help ensure everyone can access the nutritious food we all need to thrive. This holiday season, lawmakers can help families facing hunger across America. ?? Tell Congress to strengthen TEFAP and SNAP in the next farm bill: https://bit.ly/3UXCKoJ ?? In recent weeks, Feeding America partner food banks across four states met with USDA leaders to discuss disaster response, the ongoing disruptions to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) and the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), and other critical issues impacting food banks and local communities. Last week, MANNA FoodBank - Asheville NC—whose facility was destroyed during Hurricane Helene—welcomed Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to its temporary warehouse. Food bank leaders and Feeding America President and COO Linda Nageotte met with the secretary to discuss current relief operations as well as strategies to uplift local communities as they recover in the coming weeks, months and years. Sec. Vilsack also heard from and expressed gratitude to a group of MANNA volunteers, noting they served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community. Golden Harvest Food Bank in Georgia and Three Square Food Bank in Nevada each met with USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small. Atlanta Community Food Bank, Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and Food Bank of Northern Nevada each met with USDA Deputy Under Secretary Cindy Long. We commend the leaders and staff of these food banks for the effort they put into preparing for these visits. A continued strong partnership between the Feeding America network and USDA is crucial in the movement to end hunger.

Our sincere thanks to the Walmart Foundation for helping communities after #HurricaneHelene and #HurricaneMilton with an incredible $1 million gift and the donation of truckloads of food, water, and supplies to food banks in Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia — all part of a broader commitment of longstanding support from Walmart, Sam's Club, and the Walmart Foundation.
