Check out this week’s #GivingMatters story! Feed & Seed Co. has been offering fresh, locally sourced food in the Judson Mill neighborhood since 2022, by way of its Green Market and Café. But the 18,000-square-foot Food Innovation Hub is much more than a fun place to shop and have lunch. The nonprofit provides infrastructure to support local farmers while improving access to healthy, affordable food, and it provides FoodShare boxes to underserved communities throughout the Upstate. We had so much fun at the Travelers Rest Farmers Market Tomato Sandwich Taste-Off!?Huge thanks to everyone who came out and supported us – we are thrilled to announce we came in second place! We loved connecting with our amazing community & serving up some delicious tomato sandwiches!?

We're been processing fresh produce for schools! It's tomato season so Romas are becoming tomato sauce.?After receiving the tomatoes from a local farm, they are washed, roasted and transformed into a product for year-round use?in local cafeterias!?And?we do all the processing work to make it easier for schools and institutions to utilize better products! Our Market is located at Judson Mill in Greenville. It?offers a Grab-&-Go section of prepackaged snacks; sandwiches and salads as a light bite for lunch; a deli section with house-made sides; fresh or frozen pre-made meals to grab and reheat dinner conveniently; local meats and eggs; local dairy products; and a selection of produce?year round! We are proud to accept SNAP/EBT benefits so all families can enjoy fresh, quality foods. **Healthy Bucks = More Affordable Produce for Families on SNAP/EBT** Did you know our small grocery market?is one of the first in South Carolina to participate in Healthy Bucks??This program makes it easier to purchase healthy options with SNAP benefits. Customersl can get $20 worth of fresh produce for just $5 SNAP/EBT, or $40 worth for just $10 SNAP/EBT.?

Feed & Seed is an aggregator for the Local Food Purchasing Assistance (LFPA) program of South Carolina Department of Agriculture (via USDA) which supports socially-disadvantaged producers and growers by purchasing, and then provides products for underserved food insecure areas. This year we have provided food banks across the Upstate with fresh produce, meats and minimally processed items through the program. One fantastic minimally processed?product we've sourced is?Angel and Angela's fruit purées from Growers for Grace PBC (Angela O'Neal Rainwater). Each pouch is filled with 100% fruit sourced from local South Carolina farms, and zero additives. They use a novel technology that elevates food safety while protecting sensitive nutrients like polyphenols that can degrade with commonly-used commercial processing and sterilization methods. We've supplied these for at-risk communities and even kids participating in Summer food assistance programs.?We love getting to support this innovate product sourced from our farms!
