FHLB Dallas has provided a $250,000 charitable donation to Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico to support recovery efforts in Chaves County following devastating floods. The funds will help residents and businesses rebuild after severe storms damaged more than 400 homes and 200 businesses in Roswell and surrounding areas, including the districts of Representative Teresa Leger Fernandez and Gabe Vasquez for Congress. FHLB Dallas and Veritex Community Bank have awarded a combined $33,500 in Partnership Grant Program (PGP) funding to support two community development organizations making a real impact: Credit Coalition and the Houston Land Bank - HLB Fund. With $12,500 going to Credit Coalition, they’ll continue offering essential homebuyer and financial literacy counseling to underserved communities in Greater Houston and Beaumont. The Houston Land Bank Fund will use its $21,000 grant to revitalize vacant and damaged properties, creating affordable housing options in the area.
