It’s fantastic to hear about Vaisala's US Headquarters achieving its net-zero potential! The collaboration with JVA, Inc. DCI Engineers, and FCI Constructors, Inc. to design and build the building to anticipate a photovoltaic system highlights the importance of planning for sustainability from the outset. This achievement sets an excellent example for future projects and contributes to the significant environmental responsibility expectations set forth by Vaisala. Last week I had the opportunity to tour the Pagosa Hot Springs Expansion project that FCI Constructors, Inc. is managing. I was throughly impressed with the cooperative efforts by both the GC and Owner to focus on utilizing local subs. In fact, ALL the stone work in the new tubs (pictured below) are being completed by a local contractor who is a Pagosa Springs High School graduate. And that's just one trade! Not only is it nice to see and makes you feel warm and fuzzy. The focus on "local" is imperative in our small corner of the world. I commonly refer to the Four Corners Region as an "island" which I feel accurately portrays the locale as well as the attitude. Here on our "island" we support and lookout for the success and future of our fellow island dwellers. This jobsite had community members everywhere, and that's cool!

Monday marked the first of many City Council meetings in the new City Hall, built for the City of Northglenn. The City thoughtfully recognized all the team players who made the new building possible, and welcomed the community in with a celebration of the accomplishment of the second phase of Northglenn's Civic Center Master Plan. As a net-zero, CORE-certified facility, the City was determined to lead the way in sustainability and efficiency for the future of its citizens. Congratulations, and thank you to the City and the team that made this incredibly courageous vision a reality. With the fantastic record the Eaton School District RE-2 high school softball team has maintained over the last 15 years, they needed more room for spectators! With the need for new bleachers, but no one to assemble them, we had a group of employees volunteer to assist. It was a beautiful Saturday, after homecoming, and we were able to assemble two sets of bleachers in one day, with only one extra trip to the hardware store! Thanks to Ed Nation, General Superintendent, for coordinating the efforts, and to folks from our pre-construction, operations and marketing teams for lending a hand. #community #eatonsoftball

Wow! Last Thursday was FCI's 11th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, and what a day it was! Skydivers, terrific food, our very own branded beer, great friends, amazing prizes, perfect weather, a gun giveaway, golf and so much fun. A groundbreaking ceremony was held in southwest Albuquerque on Wednesday for a new affordable housing complex. The Route 66 Flats near Central and Unser will have 47 one-bedroom units for people with disabilities, mental or behavioral needs, and who earn less than $18,150 a year. The goal of the project is to help Albuquerque residents exit homelessness. The Route 66 Flats project is not just about building apartments; it’s about building a community where residents can thrive and receive the support they need to live stable, fulfilling lives.?The three-story apartment building is expected to open in late summer 2025. Every so often, a partnership comes along that changes the course of history. Adam and Eve. Ben and Jerry. McCartney and Lennon. The Steves, both Jobs and Wozniak. Partnerships can come in many forms, but when the right people get together at the right time, they can make magic. That’s exactly what happened on the Northglenn, Colorado City Hall project where FCI Constructors, Inc. came together with Anderson Mason Dale Architects and others to deliver a spectacular building that is redefining community. Consultation has played a significant role in the City Hall project to date, with FCI Constructors as Construction Manager/General Contractor, Anderson Mason Dale Architects as Architect, and Cumming Group as Owner’s Representative. From the outset, the team, which included a variety of trade partners, did everything to ensure the project met the client’s vision—which was grander than first imagined.
