Did you know FCA in the Great Lakes Region developed the Challenge App to help coaches and athletes grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus? One of the opportunities contained within the app is a New Testament Bible reading plan. Thousands of coaches and athletes all over the world have taken the challenge to get to know God through the reading of His Word. Every Tuesday features a testimony from a coach or an athlete whose life has been transformed and renewed. For the next few weeks we get to hear from a couple of our FCA Club Sport athletes! FCA is growing in the Great Lakes Region with the addition of club teams called the FINS, which is an acronym - Faith IN Sport.. What started with 2 club baseball teams in 2022 with one location has grown to 21 club teams in 3 locations, in 3 sports - baseball, softball, and track & field. ? Competitive Sports ? Family Friendly ? Spiritual Development ? Life Transformation FCA Sports was launched in 2022 by The Fellowship of Christian Athletes to engage athletes at a younger age and in a different space than camp and campus ministry, which are FCA’s traditional ministry environments.. but it’s time to reacher deeper and farther through growingly diverse discipleship opportunities like club sports ministry. Athletes are growing in their relationship with Christ through FCA Sports and returning back to their communities and school campuses as equipped Kingdom leaders. ?? are you the next FCA Sports Coach? Over 230 athletes in the Great Lakes Region are training and competing on FCA Club Sports baseball and softball teams. We are super excited that our athletes are growing in a deeper relationship with Jesus through competitive club sports opportunities. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is changing the game by sharing the message with coaches, athletes, and families that they are more than their sport and that their identity is not found in the successes and failures of competition. True life can only be found in a relationship with Christ. FCA Sports was launched in February of 2022 and since then lives are continuing to be transformed by Jesus through a growing number of competitive club sports opportunities like the FINS. The FCA FINS Family is growing! What started with 2 teams two years ago has grown to 16 teams in Northeast Indiana. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes launched an initiative 2.5 years ago to begin creating opportunities for coaches to develop athletes both physically and spiritually through club and league sports.. it’s called FCA Sports! It’s evident there is a growing hunger for a greater purpose and when Jesus is at the center of training and competition it changes things. Families are continuing to be drawn to FCA through the FINS, which stands for Faith IN Sport. So what’s the secret l? We have GREAT coaches that are highly proficient who love Jesus. This year 190 athletes and 65 coaches will train & compete on one of our 16 FINS baseball or softball teams! FINS opportunities are growing outside of Northeast Indiana as well. It’s exciting that 3 FINS Baseball teams are launching in Cleveland this year and 1 in Cincinnati! And it’s not about having teams.. it’s about using sports as an avenue to share the hope and love of Christ. The Fellowship of Christian Athletes has a big vision - to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. FCA Sports is positioned uniquely to help accomplish the mission of FCA - to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church. If you’re wondering what FINS stands for.. it’s Faith IN Sport. Our athletes train and compete at a high level physically - but it’s so much bigger than the game. Pictures below show the impact that can be had when Jesus is at the center of it. A group of FINS players, parents, and even siblings made the decision to be baptized today at a post-season team gathering. This FINS team had a successful season and won over 30 games this year - but today was the evidence of eternal success. JESUS IS EVERYTHING SPORTS MATTER KIDS ARE WORTH IT What started with 2 baseball teams in Northeast Indiana in 2022-2023 grew to 3 softball teams, 7 baseball teams, and 1 track & field team in 2023-2024. Currently we are working on FINS baseball team launches in Cleveland and Cincinnati allong with a growing number of opportunities in Northeast Indiana. Bigger than baseball… God is transforming coaches and athletes through youth sports! A few short years ago The Fellowship of Christian Athletes launched an initiative called FCA Sports to meet families where they are - in the ring on competition. Humility, Confidence and Generosity. These words are linked but the results of a google search often leave out the most critical one. One of the top articles shares that confident humility is the worthy goal of Adam Grant from the Wharton School of Business. In it, he explains, “Confidence without humility breeds blind arrogance and humility without confidence yields debilitating doubt.”?Since those results are worth avoiding,?how does one go about attaining confident humility? “God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways? so that you’re ready for anything and everything,? more than just ready to do what needs to be done. ? As one psalmist puts it, He throws caution to the winds,? giving to the needy in reckless abandon.? His right-living, right-giving ways never run out, never wear out. ? This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you.?He gives you something you can then give away,?which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God.”? 2 Corinthians 9:8-11-The Message ? Here are a few journal questions to get you started on a path towards confident humility: 1.????????How has God been extravagantly generous to you? 2.????????What has God given others that has become the bread you need? 3.????????What do you now have that you can confidently give away? Confident humility rests on a foundational understanding of God’s direct generosity and His generosity through others.?He has given us everything we need and apart from Him, we can do nothing. So, as you go about serving your family, leading your club and coaching others, don’t run ahead of him with blind arrogance and don’t shrink behind others with debilitating doubt. Instead, run the race that has been marked out for you, fixing your eyes on Jesus with confident humility.?
