The Runway at Florida Atlantic is now officially has the State of Florida Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year teaching in the program. Kevin Cox, Ph.D., director of the Adams Center for Entrepreneurship and assistant professor in the College of Business, was the recipient of the 2025 State of Florida Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year award by the Florida State University - Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. The award honors a Florida educator for outstanding dedication and excellence in teaching #entrepreneurship and has significantly contributed to student learning, #innovation in pedagogy and the advancement of entrepreneurship education at their school and/or throughout the state.

Florida Atlantic University’s Tech Runway recently hosted CrocTank, a groundbreaking live business pitch event, where Andria Beal, PhD, founder of EpiPaws, received an investment offer of $250,000 from venture capitalist Kevin O’Leary. The event, held at the Carole and Barry Kaye Performing Arts Auditorium, featured four entrepreneurs from the Florida Atlantic University community, including Florida Atlantic Tech Runway and the Research Park at Florida Atlantic, who pitched their ventures to the Shark Tank judges Kevin O’Leary, FUBU apparel founder Daymond John, and cyber-tech giant Robert Herjavec Other contestants included Tim Sperry, Kaustubh Kale, and Hannah Herbst, who presented cutting-edge solutions in CO2 reduction, heart health monitoring, and medical technology.
