LEVITY Media Group spoke with our CEO & Co-Founder Ashley Zehnder for their article on what our team has been working on: The company has created what might be the world's largest biomedical?knowledge graph?integrating human disease data with animal resilience. They've collected thousands of transcriptomes (showing which genes are active), proteomes (mapping proteins present), and epigenomes (revealing how genes are regulated), totaling over 46 billion sequence reads from 292 different animals, across 24 tissue types, at 21 different time points. Time points? ”We start to look at what genes that are changing at time points where we see an interesting disease reversal phenotype. Either we see a heart that is slightly damaged and repairing itself, metabolism that's massively changing, or skeletal muscle that's rebuilding, which happens during hibernation. We take samples at those very precise time points. We say, ’okay, what genes are going up, what genes are going down?’ And then we start to map that to our human disease data.
