Last Friday, Faulkner Architects had the opportunity to host students from Stanford’s Sustainable Architecture + Engineering program at our San Francisco office. As part of their studio crawl, the students engaged with our team and explored insights into the architectural profession. Our founder, Greg Faulkner, addressed the group, providing valuable perspectives on our firm’s approach, projects, and ethos. The visit fostered meaningful discussions about the industry and offered students a closer look at the day-to-day operations of our firm.

Featured on ArchDaily is Red Rock House: https://lnkd.in/gGswNfGE "Open to the Red Rock Canyon to the west and the city lights of the east, the cantilevered form balances the sculptural weight of the basin and water. The earth-like ground form, fitted with its layer of weathered steel, is a nod to the geology of the?Las Vegas?Valley and Red Rock Canyon beyond." Red Rock is featured on?Design Milk today in the article "The Red Rock House Is an Architectural Dialogue With the Desert" https://lnkd.in/g7_uniqN "In the heart of Summerlin, Nevada,?Faulkner Architects?has designed the?Red Rock?residence in collaboration with?Concept Lighting Lab?as an extension of its natural environment. The home responds to the dramatic contrasts of its surroundings with views of the Las Vegas Strip to the east and the rugged Red Rock Canyon to the west. The scenic location, combined with the unforgiving climate of the Nevada desert, posed unique challenges and opportunities that shaped the design of the home. The result is a residence that reflects the desert’s stark beauty while offering refuge from its extreme conditions," writes Caroline Williamson. We’re pleased to share Faulkner Architects is included in?Architizer’s list of the “100 Best Architecture and Design Firms in the United States†https://lnkd.in/grESjE48 “Faulkner Architects was formed by Greg Faulkner in 1998 to pursue the making of highly crafted, site sensitive places. Emphasis is placed on an interactive process between architect, client and builder through the duration of the project, that allows the inhabitants to be intimately involved with the design. A strong commitment to the quality of every project is evident in the buildings and professional relationships. Repeat projects for clients that become friends make up a third of the work. Evolution of the design through construction is an integral part of the process. The work begins with listening to the client and understanding their ultimate goals for the project. A measured response emerges after careful consideration and observation. The designs are affected by vernacular traditions drawn from the culture of the place in which the project is to be built. These traditions impart wisdom to materiality, formal massing and most importantly, provide an overriding common sense view of building in an appropriate way.†??: Joe Fletcher |?#faulknerarchiects?#architizer
