Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated together at the office during our annual potluck lunch. This year, team members were encouraged to bring a dish that meant something to them personally so that we could share our traditions with one another. We even fried turkeys onsite! We really enjoyed getting to spend time with one another and hope that you also are having a wonderful day spending time with those you care about!

We have two work anniversaries this month: audit manager Joshua Smith and CAS manger, Tess Soulier! We appreciate all that you do! Please join us in thanking them for their dedication to the firm!

Who knew you could learn so much while at Walk On's? Last week, we held an interdepartmental meeting between Sentinel Pension and Faulk & Winkler's audit department so that they could learn more about each department as well as opportunities for collaboration. After the meeting, we held our first trivia night hosted by our marketing coordinator, Amanda Dixon. She led us through trivia questions about a wide range of topics - everything from Baton Rouge trivia to accounting trivia. Thank you for hosting us, Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux! We'll be back for another evening of fun soon!

We had a fantastic evening at Southeastern Louisiana University's third annual Women in Business Break Bread dinner! Members of our firm were able to make connections with students and enjoy each other's company over a lovely dinner, followed by a keynote speech from the Dean of the College of Business, Dr. Tara Lopez. We thoroughly enjoyed this event and cannot wait to be back next year!

Please join us in congratulating Melissa Terito on her new board position! At this year's ASPPA annual conference, it was announced that Melissa will be joining their Leadership Council for 2025. The nomination was unanimously approved and we know Melissa will do a fantastic job! Congratulations, Melissa!

Happy Monday! Today we're spotlighting CAS team member, Melissa Dugas! Melissa joined the firm in 2021 and always works diligently to assist our clients with their outsourced accounting needs. She has a passion for helping business owners and individuals manage and grow their financial well-being. Thank you for sharing, Melissa! It was a pleasure to learn more about you!

Our administrative team celebrated their annual retreat with a late lunch followed by painting their own pottery pieces at BellyFire Studios! Without this talented group of people, our office couldn't run the way it does every day. Please join us in thanking them for their continued hard work for our firm!

Our accountants are talented in so many ways! Audit manager Slade Jones participated in this year's annual VFW cookoff representing Faulk & Winkler. His chili entry received the people's choice award! Well done, Slade! Thank you for representing the firm at this fantastic event benefitting VFW Post 9210!

Believe it or not, it's already time to start looking ahead to next year's tax season. The IRS has released the annual inflation adjustments for tax year 2025.
