关于我们
Fathers Incorporated (FI) is a national, non-profit organization working to build stronger families and communities through the promotion of Responsible Fatherhood. Established in 2004, FI has a unique seat at the national table, working with leaders in the White House, Congress, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Family Law, and the Responsible Fatherhood Movement. FI works collaboratively with organizations around the country to identify and advocate for social and legislative changes that lead to healthy father involvement with children, regardless of the father’s marital or economic status, or geographic location. From employment and incarceration issues, to child support and domestic violence, FI addresses long-standing problems to achieve long-term results for children, their families, the communities, and nation in which they live.

On the urgency of Black fathers’ civic engagement ?? “The narrative has got to be that one of the ways to strengthen our community and strengthen our families is your engagement. You have to civically engage.” ? Fill out your census form. ? Register to vote. ? Volunteer. ? Mentor. ? Go to school board meetings. ? Run for public office ? Be school crossing guards. ? Be coaches. SOURCE: FI CEO Kenneth Braswell on the #SpeakBlackMan podcast with Jason B. Allen (https://lnkd.in/e_2UD9fP)

Shaq’s fatherhood story is inspiring, but it’s also complex. There’s much to admire from the dad who stepped up and likely lots of pain around the one who didn’t. So many of us — and many of the dads we work with — have fatherhood stories that match one side or the other or, like Shaq, can relate to both. We share stories like this to let them know they’re not alone. ?? ??: In Depth with Graham Bensinger

On being in your feelings, needing affirmation, and measuring success as a husband and father ?? “When life has you down, it’s not an indicator of the totality of your existence. It’s just a momentary thing… and you can rise above. But you need people in your life.” “I think the most important thing for men is to have people in their life that affirm them.” “My manhood is measured through how my wife sees me as a husband. My fatherhood is measured through how my children see me as a father.” FI CEO Kenneth Braswell dropped this wisdom – and more – in a recent episode of Sean Coleran’s Dad Improvement podcast! The way being a father cracks you open. ?? We’re grateful to actor Chris Lowell for his reflections on the bond between himself and his young daughter. It’s so moving when a father realizes the power of his presence and, at the same time, feels his child’s love in return. ?? Lowell tells People magazine, “They always tell you about how much you're going to love this person more than you’ve ever loved anything before, so I was prepared for that. But I don't think I was prepared to receive love the way that I do from my daughter.” Read the full story here: https://bit.ly/4hrY6Ut #Fatherhood #Parenting #DadLife #GirlDad #FathersLove

The research is clear: Black fathers influence their daughters’ social and emotional development. ?? For example, a dissertation by Moynihan Institute for Fatherhood Research and Policy Fellow David C. Miller, Ph.D., shows the following: - Black fathers are protective shields. - Emotional investment boosts confidence. - Academic involvement shapes success. - Black fathers challenge negative narratives. - The absence of fathers leaves emotional voids. We’re gathering our largest cohort of fathers yet by filling 100 slots in our Gentle Warriors Academy! These Atlanta dads will make up our FIRE 100 – a group of graduates who build brotherhood through workshops and coaching while learning about parenting, legal rights, anger management, and fitness and transforming their families.
