We wanted to share an update from Brandon Meredith, the 2023 Transition Trucking: Driving for Excellence Award Winner. Brandon said, "Things are going well. It took about a month to get the truck all ready. Now Cobra Six Transport LLC is up and running, leased on to Slay Transportation. Hope all is well with your crew! I have made a few trips to a customer in Illinois and passed by Chillicothe, OH every time. It still feels like a dream..... ". Fastport, Kenworth, and Hiring Our Heroes are honored to be a part of this prestigious award and are grateful for the Veterans who serve our Country. We look forward to sharing some great new information about the 2024 contest shortly.

Sharri Justice, Fastport Director of Customer Experience, will participate in the "Bridges to Success: Career Pathways for Military-Connected Families" on Wednesday, March 6th at the National Museum of the United States Army Veteran's Hall in Fort Belvoir, VA. This Networking Career &Education Fair offers transitioning service members, military spouses, dependents, and veterans the opportunity to connect with career enhancement programs, certification programs, employer-sponsored internships and fellowships, and degree programs. Everyone at Fastport is proud to serve and support DOL VETS!

As a speaker and panelist at the Hiring our Heroes Career Summits at Kadena Air Base and Camp Foster, he joins a large group of people committed to helping our military members prepare for the next stage of their professional careers. "The men and women who serve our Country throughout the world are amazing. They are selfless, highly talented, and excited to take their skills into the civilian community upon the completion of their commitment", said Brad. "Everyone at Fastport feels blessed to help them with their transition", he added.

Fastport's Dave Harrison, Workforce Development and Government Programs Executive Vice President, will present today and tomorrow (February 20th-21st) at the Conversion Interactive 2024 Annual Recruitment & Retention Conference. As a designated Industry Subject Matter Expert in Registered Apprenticeship Technical Assistance for the Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship (DOL-OA), Dave has been instrumental in providing guidance and expertise in the implementation of apprenticeship models.
