A farm can never completely eliminate soil compaction. But we can minimize its impact by increasing the footprint of the machinery that drives across the soil. CTIS allows you to run high pressures for efficient road travel while protecting tires from heat buildup . . . and run low pressures to minimize the machine’s impact in the field. With CTIS, you can make a rough ride, deep ruts, difficulty staying between the rows, and fast tire wear all PAST problems. PTG Reifendruckregelsysteme GmbH #farming #farmtech

Faster fieldwork, less soil compaction, and a ride that will have you drinking your coffee instead of wearing it. There are many reasons to invest in CTIS—boost the performance of your equipment with the right tire pressure for field and road. PTG Reifendruckregelsysteme GmbH

Tons of weight and frequent passes across your fields adds up to a lot of soil compaction. If you're interested in manure handling that doesn't stink (in terms of soil health), you need a fresh idea—CTIS. Set tire pressures high for smooth road travel; drop them as low as safely possible for maximum flotation in the field. Easier and faster pulling. Less fuel burned. And a smoother ride that leaves you fresher at the end of a long day. PTG Reifendruckregelsysteme GmbH

Is this Challenger equipped with CTIS? With an RDS system installed, it's hard to tell unless you look under the hood (or chassis). On RDS systems, the rotary unions that transmit air to the tires from the air compressor are located inside the wheels on the axle—a clean install without external lines hanging over the tires. Once you install CTIS on a tractor, planter, or other machine, it becomes part of your operation and part of your agronomy plan. CTIS is a valuable tool in the fight against soil compaction and the drive to push yields and profits higher on the farm. PTG Reifendruckregelsysteme GmbH NTS Tire Supply

The goal of CTIS is to give a farmer the best soil protection and equipment performance possible with precision tire pressure management. The goal of every CTIS installation is to blend the system seamlessly with existing equipment and ensure a clean, OEM-like appearance. This installation video is courtesy of NTS Tire Supply.

Farmers are often hesitant to add extra equipment to their equipment. There's always a chance that the extra "stuff" is going to cause extra headaches when it decides to act up. While there are several components needed to make an inflation system work, PTG has engineered its systems to stand up to real-world conditions on the farm. A frequent concern we hear from potential customers revolves around the external air lines. What happens if one of these lines gets ripped off? First, PTG supplies 2-line systems, with one control line and one air supply line to each wheel. The control line operates the wheel valve, which is closed except when the system is inflating or deflating the tires. So when you uncouple the lines from a wheel valve, you won't lose any air from the tire. Second, customers have confirmed that the air lines themselves are durable in the field. Nate Firle runs the system pictured here on his research farm in Gibbon, Minnesota. With dozens of research trials happening every year, he's in and out of his fields 50–60 times each year. So, when it comes to putting equipment to the test, his operation is hard to beat. What did he have to say about his CTIS-equipped planting setup? "The thing I tell growers the most is not to be intimidated by the system. We turn the tractor around in a tree line on about half our farm; there are tree branches hooking those [air] lines all the time. There are those things that would potentially scare a grower away from the hoses hanging off the side of the tractor, and we haven’t had any negative experiences with them, even though we pushed them to more of a limit than most growers would do."

Strip tilling is great for protecting and improving soil health and also saves energy, time, and money as it eliminates one or more passes across the field. CTIS is a natural companion technology for strip till machines as it can help with all of the above. Whether you're using a separate strip till tool and a center-fill planter or an all-in-one system like the SoilWarrior, CTIS will help you minimize compaction, maximize your fuel economy, and help you glide down the road and float across the field smoother and faster.

You can't control the weather, but you can control how well your equipment performs. When you have complete control over your tire pressures, and you're able to run ultra-low pressures in the field, you'll experience better traction, better flotation, and potentially higher yields when you safeguard your soil from compaction. CTIS makes it all possible!
