Last Thursday, we had the pleasure of participating in the Bill Barker Memorial #Golf Tournament, hosted by the Monterey County Farm Bureau at the beautiful Bayonet Black Horse courses in support of educational programs in Monterey County, including scholarships for students focusing on #ag majors. It was an excellent day of golf, team building, and connecting with fellow members of the agriculture community (hello to our friends at RDO Equipment Co.). FarmWise was honored to host a tour for the AgKnowledge Class XVI 2024 Fellows last Friday at our Salinas shop! #AgKnowledge is a nine-month fellowship created by the GROWER-SHIPPER FOUNDATION with the mission of providing 23 fellows with a deeper understanding of agriculture and its complexities in Monterey County. Friday’s focus was on “Science and #Technology.” Mindy Gularte Carpenter Carpenter, a current AgKnowledge Class XVI 2024 Fellow, led the tour through our Salinas shop. The group learned about the history of FarmWise, observed a Vulcan demonstration, and discussed the much-needed automation revolution in #agriculture. The tour also included visits to other key organizations in the Monterey County agriculture industry, such as the Agriculture Business and Technology Institute at Hartnell College and the USDA Agricultural Research Service Facility. Shoutout to the awesome initiatives like AgKnowledge, and the organizations that support them, for educating leaders on our industry's top challenges and the #technologies that are changing things for the better.
