????????????????????'?? ?????? ?????????? shows we can make farming humane by paying pennies more per meal ?? But donating to some of the best charities is even MORE efficient, because it makes farming kinder at scale ?? Our diet calculator (compassioncalculator.org) shows that it cost just $23 a month to do as much good for animals as the average omnivore's diet harms them. That price doesn't just slightly help one animal for each one that's impacted by your diet. It helps enough animals to prevent as much total suffering as all the animals in your diet experience throughout their entire lives ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? That's orders of magnitude better value

Most of us love animals but also eat meat. Unfortunately, most animals we eat live in truly horrible conditions. We don’t torture them for fun or better meat, just for cheaper meat. If we all paid just a bit more, we could avoid most animal suffering – often just for a few cents per meal. Watch our latest video to see how little it takes: https://kgs.link/meat

    • Illustration shows a surprised person holding a fork with a piece of meat, while an angry-looking pig rests a hoof on their shoulder. The pig's glare suggests disapproval, making the moment awkward. The dark background emphasizes the tension between the two characters.

Technology and Sustainability Leader | Top 50 Global Thought Leader | International Keynote Speaker @ Tom Raftery | Podcast host | Energy, Supply Chain, Climate, Marketing

When we talk about climate change, we tend to focus on energy, transport, and industry - I know I do! But what about the food on our plates? Factory farming is responsible for up to 19% of global greenhouse gas emissions, driven by methane, deforestation, and unsustainable feed production. Yet, it rarely gets the attention it deserves. In this week’s episode of #ClimateConfident, I sat down with Thom Norman, co-founder of FarmKind, to uncover the true cost of factory farming—not just on the planet, but also on public health and food security. Key Takeaways: ? Factory farming uses 80% of global cropland but provides just 17% of our calories ? It’s a leading cause of deforestation, biodiversity loss, and water pollution ? Antibiotic overuse in livestock farming is fuelling antimicrobial resistance, a growing global health crisis ? Alternatives exist—cultivated meat, plant-based proteins, and better regulations could transform our food system ? Consumer demand & corporate action can push the industry towards sustainable solutions We can’t hit #NetZero without addressing agriculture. But here’s the challenge—reducing factory farming means restructuring one of the world’s largest industries, worth over $2.3 trillion. Can businesses, policymakers, and consumers really drive meaningful change? Or is the meat industry too powerful to disrupt? ?? Check the comments for a link to the full episode What do you think—should we start regulating factory farming like we do fossil fuels? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below ?? #ClimateChange #Sustainability #FactoryFarming #NetZero #FoodSecurity #AlternativeProteins #ClimateSolutions #CarbonEmissions #PlantBased #CultivatedMeat #FoodTech #ClimatePodcast #BusinessInnovation

???????? ?????? ???????????????????? ???????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ?? When it comes to making the world a better place, there's always more that could be done, but we each can only put in so much effort.. ?? This means it's crucial to pick choices that are the right combination of impactful and easy. We've attempted to map this out in this 2x2. Please note that we celebrate all intentions to help, even if they slightly miss the mark! ?????? ??????????????????: 1?? Donating is over-powered (surprise surprise!)???? 2?? Pescatarianism can easily do more harm than good if it leads you to eat more fish than if you were omnivorous (because fish are smaller and so more of them need to be harmed to produce the same amount of food) ???? 3?? Encouraging those around you to do more, in an empowering and inclusive way (not in a self-righteous or judgmental way!) is under-rated ???? 4?? Eating ???????? animal products (even if you're not vegetarian) is underrated, and should be celebrated more ?? ?? If you found this helpful please share it with your network ?? If you think something is wrong or missing, please let us know ?? ----- ?????? ??????????????: 1?? With many of these, the impact depends massively on your individual circumstances. For example, voting can potentially be very impactful depending on your electorate. Protesting also has a high impact ceiling. Buying ethically labelled products can be great or useless depending what the labels actually mean and how well the standards are enforced (we advise a high level of skepticism in general!) 2?? The ease of different actions can also be very personal, e.g. depending what you have more of to spare -- time or money

Most people think factory farming is only bad for animals. Increasingly, people understand why it's a problem for the environment as well. The most overlooked victim is us: Factory farming puts public health at risk and degrades social justice. ?????? ???? ?????? ???? ?????????? -- ???? ????????, ?????? ???????????????????? ?????? ?????????????? ??????????! ?? One of the big reasons many people don't want to adopt a more plant-based diet is that food is so closely linked with our community and our traditions. This is never more true than in the holidays. Fortunately, changing your diet isn't the only way, maybe not even the best way, to help tackle factory farming.
