Our #FarmCredit institutions, united through a common mission and purpose, are dedicated to supporting rural communities in good times and in the aftermath of devastating natural disasters. The Texas Farm Credit District, in partnership with AgFirst Farm Credit Bank, CoBank, and Farmer Mac, have committed over $315,000 in relief aid to support those impacted by Hurricane Helene. It's National Black Business Month. To support Black row crop farmers, the National Black Growers Council (NBGC) model farm field days are continuing this summer with a final stop in Georgia. ???? Earlier this year, Isaac E. Bennett, FCBT chief credit officer and a former NBGC advisory board member, represented Farm Credit at the event in Tanner, Alabama, alongside Farm Credit colleagues, USDA representatives and other industry stakeholders. "Investing in Black farmers is an investment in the future of American agriculture," Bennett said. ? August 29-30: Alabama Ag Credit will sponsor transportation and lodging for Tuskegee University students and staff attending the Georgia field day in Montezuma. Central Texas Farm Credit Vice-President Branch Manager Wade Polk represented the association at the 2024 Farm Credit Association Leadership Program, hosted by the Farm Credit Bank of Texas. Our Chief Apprasier Tyler Mullins participated in the Association Leadership Program last week, which is hosted by our funding bank, the Farm Credit Bank of Texas. The group of delegates toured the Federal Farm Credit Funding Corporation in New Jersey, explored the Financial District in New York, and visited legislators on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. “The trip was an excellent opportunity to learn about a side of the Farm Credit System that many never get to see," Tyler said. "It's an honor to meet with our legislators and speak on behalf of our associations about the issues our stockholders face. Additionally, the trip gave me an opportunity to network with other Farm Credit employees across our district. I am so grateful for this opportunity to learn and grow."
