Grateful. Inspired. Motivated. As some of you may know, from March 4th to 8th, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the BISA Conference in Florida, thanks to the whole team at Financial Alliance for Representation and Empowerment (FARE). Connecting with financial professionals from across the industry was an invaluable experience that deepened my passion for financial literacy and advisory. One of the highlights was participating in a BISA Portfolio Podcast episode, Multi-Gen Perspectives on Hot Topics, alongside Jay McAnelly , Nicole Ridley , and Jasmine Pierce. Engaging in this conversation was both insightful and rewarding! Only 6 out of 107. That’s how many of the largest U.S. financial institutions were run by women in 2019. Fast forward to 2024, and the numbers are still bleak: ?? 10.4% (52) of Fortune 500 CEOs are women ?? 9% (270) of Russell 3000 CEOs are women ?? 7.8% (39) of S&P 500 CEOs are women Why? A lack of mentorship, limited managerial support, and work-life balance challenges are just some of the barriers keeping women from leadership roles in finance.
