As the Executive Director of FARE Idaho, I’ve seen firsthand how much independent food and beverage businesses rely on us—whether it’s for advocacy, resources, or opportunities like the Field to Fork Festival. But here’s the reality: without support, we can’t do this work. Much of what we do is grant-funded. Right now, with a federal grant freeze in place, we’re facing uncertainty about how we continue showing up for the small farmers, retailers, and producers who count on us. This article in Boise Weekly/Idaho Press highlights how grant funding has made Field to Fork possible—and what’s at stake if we lose that support.
