How a napkin idea became a climate tech company with global accolades ?? Graduated project success story ? In 2018, the founders of Project Vesta approached Far Away with a ‘napkin idea’. Their concept involved utilizing a mineral called Olivine to extract gigatons of CO2 from the atmosphere, accelerating the Earth’s natural process of carbon sequestration. They came to Far Away seeking fiscal sponsorship to accept donations, as well as support with their communications, programming, and fundraising strategy. Their original goal was to raise an ambitious $1.5 million but with the support of Far Away they developed their fundraising and communications strategy, built a strong team, and raised $2.1 million in just one year. They graduated our program in 2022 to become their own nonprofit, and have now incorporated as a climate tech company with global accolades. The funds they raised through Far Away enabled successful testing and gradual deployment of their mineral on beaches nationwide. ? Empowering communities through land regeneration ??? Graduated project success story ? In 2020, a project called Regenerative Farms approached Far Away with an idea to empower women and indigenous communities to combat climate change through land regeneration. We guided them through our incubation program, aiding in strategy development and operations. Through this, they created a model for Regeneration Hubs that empower farmers, strengthen local organizations, and restore ecosystem services. With our support, they raised nearly $200,000 and obtained nonprofit status in just one year! They have since established 12 hub partnerships in Indonesia, Peru, and Honduras. We are so grateful to our community who makes this work possible ?? Meet David who is creating local impact through forest management ?? In 2021, David approached Far Away Projects with an idea to protect the rich resources of the Gabonese forest and preserve the heritage of the people of Gabon, Africa. Through our partnership, they were able to raise $135,000 in just one year, which covered the cost of farming equipment for 10 Gabonese villages and forest management fees for 10,000 trees. They worked with 1,500 Gabonese people who were previously engaged in elephant poaching due to limited economic resources, providing jobs in sustainable agriculture and forest management. Over the last two years, they have planted 34,000 trees which stand tall not only as a symbol of environmental conservation but as a representation of a brighter, more sustainable future for the people who call Gabon home.?? None of this would be possible without your support of Far Away Projects and the work that we do transforming powerful ideas into global movements ??? https://lnkd.in/gqUHvZ5x

But what does that look like in practice? To us, community cooperation means building meaningful, cross-sector partnerships to achieve all 17 SDGs. That's why we focus on transforming grassroots initiatives into global movements. ??? This #GivingTuesday, you can join us in working towards a more equitable and regenerative future. If you believe that local solutions can have worldwide impact, please help us keep our work going by making a one-time or monthly donation today. https://lnkd.in/gv5XAsgs ???? #CommunityCooperation #GlobalImpact #SDGs #UNSDGs #Nonprofit #EquitableFuture?
