?? We’re thrilled to share the amazing work happening in our classrooms! Thanks to RomoGIS and the Angellyh Yambo Foundation, our students have been empowered with #GIS4Good and community mapping skills. Our, 4th and 5th graders at FLACS III dove into community mapping, creating hand-drawn maps and using Google My Maps to build geospatial knowledge about their neighborhoods. These critical lessons help our students explore the assets and challenges in their community, opening their eyes to the power of local change. A huge shoutout to our talented students for their incredible maps and to all our partners and teachers who made this day possible. Today, RomoGIS had another great visit with our #Bronx Family!! Thanks to the Angellyh Yambo Foundation and Family Life Academy Charter Schools we have worked with over 200 students in the Bronx teaching about #CommunityMapping and how to use #GIS4Good. In our workshops, we teach students how to map their communities and have critical discussions about some of the key assets and issues in the community. Today RomoGIS and Alexandra Maruri taught 4th and 5th graders from FLACS III school about the power of mapping using hand drawn maps and one of our favorites Google My Maps to build geospatial knowledge about their communities and neighborhoods. The students today did such an great job and big shout out to our 4th graders who made some great maps of their community. We are so thankful to all of our partners and the teachers at Family Life Academy Charter Schools II and III for allowing us to train their students in the use of #GIS4Good.
