In partnership with Life Science Cares Bay Area, our Bay Area Healthpeak Properties, Inc. team got together to stuff 150 meaningful stockings that will be gifted to families of Family House SF this holiday season. Family House Inc. is a non-profit that provides temporary housing for families with children who have travelled to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital to receive treatment for cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. This giving season, we're sharing the journey of a remarkable family who spent much of the last year at Family House. When Ethan and Rachel DeJongh welcomed their first child, Emery, they were filled with joy. But just days later, their world turned upside down—Emery was diagnosed with SCID, a life-threatening immune deficiency. At only 15 days old, Emery began his fight at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals. For over eight months, Family House became their refuge during his bone marrow transplant and recovery, with Rachel as his donor.
