What We Do Founded in 1981, Family House is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization providing temporary housing to families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at the University of California San Francisco Benioff Children's Hospital. Qualifying families live more than 50 miles from UCSF, and many live at or below the low-income status as determined by UCSF. Our location sustains nearly a 100% occupancy rate and can accommodate 250 people per night. Over the course of a year we serve more than 4,000 families. Family House is an independent organization led by a professional staff and board of directors dedicated to providing residential services free-of-charge to qualifying families. Since we receive no financial support from UCSF, or any other public entity, we rely solely on the generous contributions of individuals, corporations and foundations.

With support from the Scholarship and Philanthropy Committee, members of BOMA SF’s Emerging Professionals Committee volunteered at the?Family House Magic Gala?over the weekend, contributing their time and energy to support this incredible event. The gala, which raises vital funds for Family House Inc. and its mission to provide free housing and care for families of children undergoing treatment at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, was a night of generosity and celebration. BOMA SF’s Emerging Professionals were proud to be part of the effort, reinforcing their commitment to community service and making a meaningful impact beyond the commercial real estate industry.

Originally from Houston, TX, Anna moved to the Bay Area to attend the University of San Francisco, where she graduated in 2017. Since then, she’s spent time fundraising in the Houston art world and traveling to visit family in Kenya and India before making her way back to San Francisco in July 2023. Anna loves exploring the Bay Area—whether it’s long city walks, spontaneous hikes, or bike rides. She’s also passionate about cooking and reading. One year ago, our little warrior underwent open heart surgery, and today, he’s as cheerful and full of life as ever! My family and I are beyond grateful to Dr. Mohan Reddy, UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals and Family House Inc. for their incredible care and support during such a difficult time.
