No words. Just saying. I wish we didn't need any more supports for children going through war time and more. Sending Elephants to Israel... It's the title of an article I wrote about the Elephant In My Room. It's a therapeutic coloring story I wrote after October 7th. We worked to get it out in three weeks, thinking the need was immediate... And only immediate. It's sad It's hard to believe The imaginable That is still going on. We must create stability for our children. We must support them. We must help them use their feelings as jetfuel To propel resiliance And growth And for us too ... #mentalhealth #therapy #children

It's called RESET. It's in my hands!!! I'm starting a series... Gulp. I'm excited and nervous. It feels like a big responsibility! Sharing about my journey of flipping the script in my own life and with the children, parents and educators I meet! (Of course all identifying details will be changed as in all my posts...) Hopefully it will help us all RESET, of course me too!!! ?? I've been working to share with the world. So many children and families need more support and tools! I don't have a crystal ball! Ha. And I don't know forsure that the interventions will work. In essence, we CAN'T make our children follow the rules They will make mistakes and we will too. Yet, we can set expectations! That gives our children structure to their life. And shows them we believe in them and helps them build their own clarity. And then, we can build and recognize every molecule of success. And we can be intentional about not energizing the behavior we don't want to see ... And I often see miracles.?? Nothing is more important than our childrens' mental health.?????? Yet... I've been rejected. Over and over. I want to tell the world about prevention! About creating communities of first responders. About ways in which I work to empower parents, that has significant results for their childrens' mental health. And finally one magazine said yes!!! And they want the articles... yesterday! I'm Chloe. I'm 10 years old. School is hard. My days are so long. I don't like my teachers already, They seem so tough. Feels like they are always yelling at me. I get bullied at school... A lot. And it's only the begining of the year. Kids say things that are really mean. I hear their words in my head, Even when they don't say them... "Why do you bother coming to school?" "No no wants you here!" I feels like no one cares. Lots of mornings, I tell my parents that I feel sick, My stomache hurts all the time. Sometimes, I want to run away. My parents seem so upset and angry all the time. I really don't know how to make things better. I have ADHD and ODD. I guess I am defective. Can anyone help me?? Does this resonate in any way? ... So many of our youth are struggling At school and at home. They may feel alone on their journey. I have already gotten so many calls, so painful to think about what these children are going through... We must empower our children with inner confidence and tools. Can't wait! I work with crisis and prevention. I'm going to meet with one of my champion teams today! I really love going into schools. It's my way of building teams of first responders for mental health! These educational teams learn and integrate an approach that helps children transform intense behaviors and thrive. Our goal is to help our children embrace their strength and spark! Do you see the Emotionally Nutritious words on the workbook I am bringing them and their CHAMPION chocolate bars? I want to share this with the world! I'm so inspired by this mother! I met her for the first time last week. She is handling two teens with emotional and behavioral difficulties. And it's really not simple! And yet, One session and she saw progress already... There was a physical escalation with a hole in the wall Mom took some time to reset And then used this opportunity to build. She made vision posters with her teens. And helped her son begin to take responsibility for the damaged cause by his escalation. And modeled her own reset. And I am reminded of my WHY! It's just the beginning of the journey And there is a lot of work... But Mom feels hopeful And empowered Are you inspired by this mother? #parenting #children #mentalhealth

She is destroying our family, they told me with tears in their eyes. Do you know a "Menucha"? Menucha is fun and feisty and also explosive. She has difficulty regulating. Typical interventions don't work and it's hard on parents and siblings too One parent with a Menucha told me that she hadn't been working because of the stress, she is a doctor. She and her husband were thinking about sending their "Menucha" away. 6 sessions later, They were smiling. Mom was back to work. When I heard about the cute things their daughter was doing ... I was intimidated and terrified, I was scared to present publicly ?? The staff at this youth residential where my husband and I did our first training was kind and loving. I wasn't sure if we could help them be more effective as caregivers for youth who could not live at home due to intense behavioral and emotional issues. The staff saw major improvement!!! They were able to stop escalations with youth and prevented hospitalizations. Their personal lives improved too! That was the beginning. It was a great start that began to propel me. I wish this book was around years ago... I had someone close to me that was bullied. These parents came to tell me that this book changed their son's life. At that moment I knew if Lazer Becomes A Winner Changes one child's life It all makes sense. Danny is 9 and has been bullied... And will react and get into trouble! His parents have advocated for him and taken him for help, yet he felt hopeless Until a family member suggested they get a Lazer book. He really related to Lazer. It gave him tools. And his parents too! They've been practicing insulting him. And he has been learning to respond and not to react. He feels hope As he begins a new school year And now I feel compelled to share! Lots of children need these tools. Some may need help practicing And believing they can win! So it's a story And therapy And help for a parent And a child In one colorful childrens book!!!
