Today at Families First we had the privilege of hearing from a remarkable care-experienced person who shared her journey through the looked-after system, which is part of our induction process for our new members of Families First. Her story is a powerful reminder of the profound impact that support, or the lack of it, can have on lives. Listening to her articulate the challenges she faced during her journey as a looked after young person was truly eye-opening. She emphasised how different her outcomes could have been if her family had received the right resources and guidance during those critical times. This conversation reinforced a vital message: the voices of care-experienced individuals are crucial in shaping the systems designed to support them. We must do more to ensure families can stay together whenever possible, providing the support they need to thrive. At Families First, we are commited to listening, learning, and championing the changes that can make a real difference in the lives of those who have faced similar journeys. Together, we can create a brighter future for children and families. ????
