This week on FWI Expert Insights: Data Scientist, Frank Klucznik At Falconwood, we continually seek innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and transparency in our operations. Recently, we transformed a complex weekly reporting task that involved integrating 11 Excel spreadsheets, each containing over 600,000 rows and 25-65 columns of data—a process that previously required 5 man-hours and was known to only two individuals. By leveraging KNIME's low-code/no-code environment, we automated this process, reducing the report generation time to under 3 minutes. This automation not only streamlines our workflow but also documents the entire process, making it accessible to team members with basic Excel skills. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to adopting advanced technologies that drive efficiency and foster a collaborative, transparent work environment. Mind if I use your phone, take some photos, looked through your files and gallery, made some calls, and put a tracker on it?’ ? If a stranger walked up and said this to you the answer would be, at least we hope, ‘Absolutely not!’ However, the problem being this is exactly what many mobile phone apps do when installed. Admit it, you have just said yes to whatever permissions that new app wanted without thinking about it much. Most apps just have poor app permission settings, but some apps are set up for data theft. We must be careful about what we allow on our phones, data breaches are terrible but what you may be doing is giving permission to steal your data legally with every app install.? ? Falconwood Welcomes Newest Team Member: WCC Thundercat! We're thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest team member, WCC Thundercat, a Labrador Retriever puppy from Warrior Canine Connection (WCC)! WCC is a Maryland-based nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans struggling with physical and psychological wounds. We've been proud partners of WCC for the past two years, previously raising WCC Rocky, who graduated from the program earlier this year. The partnership with WCC began when our CEO Allie Lawaetz was looking for a furry companion. Allie now serves as a “Puppy Parent” responsible for raising WCC Thundercat for the next two years, providing him with a loving, stable environment and essential training. Discovering their mission to help veterans through service dogs was an incredible find and we love having him in the office!
