In 1975, a leading custom injection molding company, Falcon Plastics, Inc. was born in Brookings, South Dakota. Founded by Don and Carol Bender, Falcon Plastics, Inc. set out to provide superior custom injection molding to a variety of companies nationwide in fields such as medical, business machine, agriculture, electronics, and appliance. Committed to the entrepreneurial spirit and beginning each product development process by listening to the customer, Falcon's unique covenant, setting them apart from the competition, is the ability to produce direct product design from start to finish. And with the introduction of blow molding in 2000, product designs become singular works of art, unique to each company's idea and desire, setting them apart from their competition. Headquartered in Brookings, South Dakota with additional plants in Madison, SD and Lexington, TN, Falcon has designed products for companies all over the world, using expertise in areas including: Pro-E and Cad Key software, tooling, hot-stamping, sonic welding, automation, insert and scientific molding, prototyping, assembly, and much more.     Last week, someone challenged me to explain what we do at Falcon Plastics without using any fancy marketing words. It was harder than I expected... I had two versions: Version 1: "We make high-quality plastic parts for other companies. They bring us their ideas, and we use our tools, machines, and expertise to bring those ideas to life, creating products that people use every day." Version 2: "We make high-quality plastic parts that are used in everyday products to improve lives. From medical devices that help people stay healthy to items that make homes and workplaces more convenient, we create solutions that make a difference. Our focus is on creating durable, sustainable, and innovative products that people rely on every day." The first version strips everything down to the basics. The second adds more context and impact. It reminded me of something Dr. Flint McGlaughlin said: ?? "Clarity trumps cleverness." Sometimes in marketing, we get so caught up in sounding impressive that we forget to be clear.     Someone recently asked me how I ensure our company reflects the values the business was built on while adapting to today’s demands. It’s a great question, and it made me reflect on what’s at the heart of everything we do. The truth is, it starts with shared values. I’m fortunate to share the same principles my grandfather, Don, instilled when he founded this company. His vision wasn’t just about making quality parts—it was about doing so with integrity and always doing the right thing, even if it costs us. We’re also lucky to have long-term employees who worked with Don and carry his values forward every day. Their dedication and consistency ensure those principles are woven into how we operate today. At the end of the day, delivering quality parts on time is about more than just meeting a deadline. It’s about being a supplier people can trust—someone who keeps their word, prioritizes relationships, and takes pride in doing the right thing.     When I think about growth at Falcon Plastics, it's always tied to one question: How can we better serve our customers? That focus has guided our investments and will continue to shape our future. In 2024, we took a significant step forward by adding four new injection molding machines to our China facility - two vertical and two high-speed injection machines. These machines expanded our capabilities and allowed us to take on more complex projects for our global customers. Now, as we move into 2025, we're making another leap forward in our global production. We're adding in-house tool-making capabilities, which will give us more control over quality and timing. We're also increasing automation throughout our facilities with collaborative and press top robots. This automation will streamline our processes and help us maintain competitive pricing in an increasingly challenging market. These aren't just random upgrades - they're strategic investments in our ability to deliver what matters most: quality parts, on time, at competitive prices.Our commitment to quality and on time delivery includes domestic and international production, giving our customers the same experience no matter the location. Every decision we make is driven by our commitment to providing the best possible service to our customers. I'm excited about these changes and even more excited about the opportunities they'll create for our customers globally. After all, their success has always been the driving force behind our growth.
