Attending board of education meetings is one of the most powerful ways to stay informed and hold the people who make decisions about your children's education accountable. Did you know that decisions about everything from classroom resources to district policies are made during board of education (BOE) meetings? That's why it's so important to attend so you can make your voice heard. ?? Save this post and share it with fellow parents, caretakers, and anyone you know who cares about the future of our children's education in Connecticut.

关于我们
FaithActs for Education is a grassroots organizing nonprofit based in Bridgeport, Connecticut. We exist to help faith leaders and their congregations step outside their place of worship to advocate for improved educational opportunities for their own children and the children of Bridgeport. Founded in October of 2014, our organizing model centers around two key activities: leveraging the power of faith leaders within their community, and directly engaging parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles – folks with a direct stake in their child's education.

As the results of the presidential and local elections are finalized, we’re reminded that our work as community organizers and people of faith transcends any single election or elected official. Now, the real work begins – organizing our communities and holding all elected officials accountable to serve the needs of everyone, not just a few. https://lnkd.in/e97gV9hQ

An important message from our Founding Executive Director, Jamilah Prince-Stewart. Additionally, the FaithActs staff is taking a sacred pause from November 5-8, to rest & reflect after our 2024 Faith Votes campaign. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” - Matthew 11:28 At FaithActs, we know that rest isn’t just a break—it’s how we build sustainable change. Back to the work on November 11th! God bless ??????

Many misconceptions about voting can keep people from the polls—from "my vote doesn’t count" to “I missed the deadline to register, so I can’t vote." But, we are setting the record straight by debunking these common misconceptions. By dispelling these voting myths, more people can be encouraged to participate in the electoral process, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard.

Voting is more than just a civic duty—it’s a moral responsibility. When we vote, we actively contribute to justice, equality, and the progress of our communities. Our ballots shape the future of education, healthcare, and so much more, making a direct impact on the next generation. Your voice matters. Use it in the upcoming presidential election.
