Last month we held a Leadership Workshop at Champaign Country Club for over 50 of our Fairlawners! Led by EOS Implementer Harlan Geiser, the workshop took a deep dive into the principles of the EOS Worldwide (Entrepreneurial Operating System), which we use at Fairlawn. It was great to spend time furthering our understanding of EOS, and we are grateful to our planning committee and Harlan for making it such a successful day!

Can you believe it has already been six weeks? Beginning mid-January, over 125 Fairlawners embarked on a health and wellness journey by joining the Whole Life Challenge, which formally wrapped up this week! It has been awesome watching our team members form new habits, hold each other accountable, have the opportunity to gain four extra days off, and enjoy wellness events like the sunset meditation we had at the Staerkel Planetarium, as seen in the photo below! Yesterday morning we began the day with a town hall meeting! Gozen Hartman, Chris Hartman, and Jason Barickman shared Fairlawn's major accomplishments over the last 12 months, the company one-year plan, and gave shoutouts to some of the team members who exemplify our core values. We enjoyed spending time connecting with our Fairlawners and look forward to doing more of these in the future!

We are pleased to announce the addition of Gina Fortune-Harmon, CPM?, ARM? as our new Vice President of Property Management. Based in our Chicago office, Gina will lead strategic property management initiatives across Fairlawn’s growing portfolio of residential, commercial, and student housing assets. She will drive operational excellence, resident satisfaction, and portfolio performance. Gina brings over 40 years of experience in property management, most recently serving as Vice President of Property Management for The Habitat Company. Additionally, Gina continues to serve as the President of the Chicagoland Apartment Association Board of Directors, an honor that speaks to her leadership and influence within the industry. We had a pretty great evening Wednesday hosting attendees of our annual Leadership Workshop and other Fairlawners from the CU metro area at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. During the event, our team enjoyed a company update presented by our executive leadership, entertainment from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's a capella group The Other Guys, and a special tour of Krannert itself. As always, we couldn't resist the opportunity to take some 'senior photo' style pictures - a crowd favorite was the one of all the "Chrises"! It was a fantastic night filled with exciting updates, plenty of laughs and overall strengthening connections across the company. Onto bigger and better things! We're excited to share that last week our Chicago team moved into a new office located at 125 S Wacker. We upgraded from four offices to eight, from an open layout floorplan to more defined workspaces, and we now have two conference rooms and a kitchen area. Everyone is still settling in, but it's safe to say they're loving their new digs!

This week, four members of our Senior Leadership team attended the National Multifamily Housing Council Apartment Strategies conference in Las Vegas! Over the course of the event, they engaged in more than 54 scheduled meetings—plus countless impromptu conversations—with industry leaders, partners, and new connections. The conference and meaningful discussions provided invaluable insights into emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in the multi-family sector. They also managed to squeeze in some fun while they were there! Join us in congratulating the Fairlawn team members who were promoted during our December evaluation cycle! We are very proud of these individuals and thank them for their dedication, hard work, and outstanding contributions. We couldn’t do it without you!

Last week, our Executive Team had a highly productive annual meeting, during which they planned for the upcoming year. As this plan is shared with employees over the coming month, we can't help but be excited about what the future holds for Fairlawn!?

We can't help but get excited for mid-January. Why? Beginning this weekend, over 125 Fairlawners will embark on a health and wellness journey together by joining the Whole Life Challenge! This marks the seventh year in a row that we have participated as a company, and we can't wait to get started! This six-week challenge is designed to help participants form good habits across seven areas of health and well-being. We look forward to supporting our team members over the next six weeks as they strive to meet their wellness goals.
