关于我们

In 1930 a town ordinance established the Police Department consisting of seven officers. Today the sworn and non-sworn staff of the department number about 230 employees. For the men and women of the police department our mission hasn’t changed much since the 1930’s. Quite simply, we exist to make Fairfield safer, we always have and always will. We are committed to our mission and remain ever vigilant in our service to the residents and visitors of the Town of Fairfield. Remember though, we can’t do it alone. The Fairfield Police Department currently employs 108 sworn officers, 100 authorized Special Agents, 15 Telecommunicators , 4 Animal Control officers, 7 Marina Guards, 6 full-time and several part-time civilian personnel. The department has is organized into several divisions/bureaus, each performing separate and vital functions within the department.

  • ICYMI: The Fairfield Police Department, in collaboration with Pediatric Healthcare Associates (PHA) and Fairfield Public Schools, is raising awareness about two pressing issues: 1?? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???? ?????????????? ????????????????????: Reports of underage drinking, often enabled by adults, highlight serious health risks and potential legal consequences. Pediatric Healthcare Associates states: “Alcohol consumption can have significant, long-lasting effects on developing brains, often leading to increased risk-taking behaviors, impaired judgment, and potential substance dependency later in life.” 2?? ?????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????????? ???? ???????????? ????????????: Recent incidents of alcohol use by adults at school-sanctioned events undermine the safety and family-friendly nature of these gatherings. Superintendent Michael J. Testani emphasizes: “It is critical that we foster a safe environment for all.” The Fairfield Police Department adds: “The safety and well-being of our young people is our highest priority. By respecting underage drinking laws and modeling responsible behavior, we can guide our youth toward safer, healthier decisions.” Let’s come together as a community to protect the health, safety, and futures of our children. • Fairfield resident and dedicated police supporter Sal DiNardo recently made a generous donation to the Fairfield Police Foundation. Sal’s commitment to our community and his support for the well-being of our department are truly commendable, and we are deeply grateful for his partnership in helping us continue our mission to serve Fairfield. Fairfield Police Chief Robert Kalamaras and Deputy Chief Edward Weihe were accompanied by Police Commissioner Charlene Lebo to accept the generous contribution. • Today, we honor the courageous men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Their sacrifices and dedication have protected the freedoms we cherish. The Fairfield Police Department proudly recognizes and deeply appreciates the service of our veterans, especially those within our community. Their bravery, resilience, and commitment inspire us daily as we work to protect and serve Fairfield. Fairfield is honored to be a designated Purple Heart Town, standing in solidarity with our military veterans, particularly those wounded in combat. In collaboration with the Fairfield Police Cadet Program and American Legion Post 143, a number of “Purple Heart Wounded Veterans Parking” signs were recently installed across town. This joint effort reflects Fairfield’s respect and gratitude toward our Purple Heart recipients. To all veterans who have selflessly defended our nation, we extend our heartfelt thanks. These signs symbolize our community’s steadfast support for the heroes among us. If your business is interested in hosting a “Purple Heart Wounded Veterans Parking” sign, please visit fpdct.com/purpleheart to learn more about how you can participate in honoring our veterans. Join us in saluting our heroes today and every day. Thank you for your service!
