?? Highlighting the Tremendous Opportunity in Supporting Female Entrepreneurs ?? At the launch of the EU Gender Finance Lab’s Masterclass, we witnessed a powerful conversation on the tremendous opportunity supporting female entrepreneurs presents. With 23 banks from the EU in the room, it was clear that the potential for growth is immense! As highlighted by Inez Murray, CEO, Financial Alliance for Women, Women-led SMEs have grown at a remarkable 12% CAGR from 2020 to 2023 across our members—outpacing the growth of women’s share in retail lending at 4% CAGR. This highlights the untapped potential in financing women entrepreneurs and the impact that targeted investment can have in driving economic empowerment and sustainable growth. ???? The session featured key thought leaders: Jen Braswell, Founding Director and Board Member of 2X Global, Anna Fasano, President of Banca Etica, Inez Murray, CEO of Financial Alliance for Women and member of the European Investment Bank (EIB)’s Women Climate Leaders Network with Christoph Kuhn, Deputy Director General, EIB Projects Directorate as the moderator. We’re excited about the growing momentum for gender-inclusive finance and the collaboration needed to close the gender gap in entrepreneurship. Thank you to the European Investment Bank (EIB), The Investing in a more Sustainable and secure Europe, the amazing panelists, and Carmen Niethammer, Carmen Vera García, and Moa Westman for bringing this important conversation to life! #WomenEntrepreneurs #GenderFinance #SMEs #EconomicEmpowerment #InclusiveFinance #SustainableInvesting #InvestInWomen #EIB #2XGlobal #FinancialAllianceForWomen #EU #Masterclass #GenderEquality

Today, at the 'Investing in a More Sustainable and Secure Europe' conference hosted by the European Investment Bank (EIB), we were delighted to join an engaging conversation on advancing the impact of Women’s Markets. Inez Murray, CEO of the Financial Alliance for Women, spoke on the panel "Ringing the Bell: How Capital Markets Can Support Gender Equality and Women’s Economic Empowerment," shedding light on the powerful impact that 100 forward-thinking organizations, including 60 large commercial banks, fintechs, insurance companies, and payment providers, have made by targeting Women’s Markets with deliberate strategies. As Inez highlighted, “Women are not just a segment; they are a dynamic market with unique needs across all economic levels—from micro, small, and medium businesses to mass, mass affluent, and affluent consumers.” She further shared that 55 of our 100 members collectively reach 79 million women in retail and 4 million women-led SMEs. These institutions manage $183 billion in outstanding loans?and $141 billion in deposits and have served 6.6 million women with non-financial services. Inez’s insights emphasized the critical need to bridge the gender gap in finance and create long-term, inclusive solutions for women’s economic empowerment—solutions that not only benefit women but also drive sustainable growth and innovation across industries. Delighted to support the launch of the first cohort of EU banks participating in the EU Gender Finance Lab’s Masterclass, focusing on supporting WSMEs across Europe. Proud of Alliance member ABN AMRO Bank N.V. and Veronike Fikse who shared the compelling figures for ABN AMRO to support female entrepreneurs--while 37% of Dutch entrepreneurs are women, just 10% of bank financing goes to women. Closing the gender gap would add 139 Billion euros to the Dutch GDP. Also delightful to hear about Crédit Agricole CIB Cyril CAMUS'?work supporting women in the health and agriculture sector in particular in partnership with European Investment Bank (EIB) Cyril CAMUS, Group Crédit Agricole CIB Veronike Fikse, ABN AMRO Bank N.V.
