Manufacturing Sector Recap: October Manufacturing employment declined by 46,000 jobs in October, primarily driven by strikes at Boeing (33,000 workers) and Textron (5,000 workers) led by the International Association of Machinists (IAM). Many other sectors outside of manufacturing were also impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. In late October and early November union members voted to end each respective strike. According to BLS, the strikes accounted for more than two-thirds of the 46,000 jobs reportedly lost. We spoke with several of our customers to get a temperature check as the economy deals with the outcome of an election, hurricane impacts and strike activity: ?? What's on your mind?
