Incredible work from Anthropic with a new state of the art model !

We did a research deep dive into Meta recently released Llama 3 model family. We find that these models are very strong, sometimes performing on-par with frontier models like GPT-4, Gemini 1.5, and Claude 3, which is an impressive achievement. https://lnkd.in/gTVP3vZV

We’re excited to announce that we’ve raised $62.7 million in a Series B1 funding round led by Daniel Gross. The round also includes Stanley Druckenmiller, NVIDIA, Jeff Bezos, Tobi Lutke, Garry Tan, Andrej Karpathy, Dylan Field, Elad Gil, Nat Friedman, IVP, NEA, Jakob Uszkoreit, Naval Ravikant, Brad Gerstner and Lip-Bu Tan. Since we announced our Series B in January 2024, we’ve grown to serve 169M queries per month, and more than 1 billion queries in the last 15 months. The additional funding will be used to support our continued consumer adoption and enterprise expansion. We’ve inked new partnerships with two of the world’s largest telecommunications firms — Japan’s SoftBank (SFTBY:US) and Germany’s Deutsche Telekom (ETR:DTE) — to distribute Perplexity to a combined total of over 116M users. As global telecom leaders increasingly seek to bring AI tools to their mobile subscribers, Perplexity has become the partner of choice. And, to satisfy an outpouring of inbound demand, we're also introducing Perplexity Enterprise Pro as our first B2B offering that places security and control first. Perplexity is helping people find the information they need more easily, whether it's surfacing content from platforms like LinkedIn and GitHub that traditional search engines can't fully access, or providing conversational summaries on topics ranging from date night ideas to online shopping deals. And we're just scratching the surface of what's possible. Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible team and the support of the tech community.
