The idea for the UPT platform emerged in 2018 during discussions with AIS, a BC-based robotics company, about the need for a mobility platform for autonomous agricultural machines. As we explored further, we identified numerous niche applications for such a platform and shifted our focus to developing a versatile solution. While we initially weren’t certain whether the autonomous market would be an early adopter of UPT, our recent agreement with Faction confirms that now is the time for Envo Drive Systems Inc. to prioritize driverless last-mile delivery solutions. Proud colleague/friend moment! Chick-fil-A Restaurants has partnered with Faction to leverage their self driving vehicles to bring people their orders! I am presenting at AFROTECH here in Houston and chose a random hotel outside of downtown. What are the odds that across the street, Ain McKendrick and his team are making moves with their tech?! I was eating inside when I noticed the delivery vehicle. I ran outside and couldn’t resist asking about it. The team member smiled and said, “I love this vehicle, and Ain is a great guy!” I’m it surprised in the slightest. Moments like this remind me how innovation can make a difference—so proud of my friends driving the future of mobility!
