Tis the season…..for Open Enrollment!!! One of the busiest seasons for HR. It could be as simple as sending out a few reminders, holding a presentation, hanging a few flyers, and having a rolling enrollment. Why stop there? Open Enrollment season is a prime opportunity to engage with employees, not just about benefits but about their overall well-being. When HR goes beyond just the administrative task and connects with employees on a personal level, it builds trust, boosts morale, and shows that the organization truly cares about their health and future. Elevate your open enrollment season: 1. Interactive Workshops: Host live Q&A sessions or benefits fairs where employees can meet with providers and HR one-on-one. 2. Personalized Support: Offer individual sessions to discuss specific needs, like selecting the right health plan or navigating HSAs/FSAs. 3. Wellness Integration: Incorporate health screenings, fitness program sign-ups, or mental health resources into your Open Enrollment events. 4. User-Friendly Tools: Provide step-by-step guides, comparison charts, or even interactive tools to simplify decision-making. (We used AlexGo this year and go some great feedback) 5. Make it Fun: Add fun elements like incentives for early enrollment or wellness-related challenges to boost participation. In one of our smaller branches we incorporated a presentation followed by an amazing Thanksgiving luncheon, followed by one on ones!!! A healthier, happier employee is indeed more engaged, productive, and likely to stick around.
