We joined more than 65 organizations in calling on Congress take immediate action to address the overdose crisis by passing the bipartisan Reentry Act (H.R.2400/S.1165) and the Due Process Continuity of Care Act (H.R.3074/S.971). These bills represent one of the strongest opportunities for Congress to increase public safety and improve public health outcomes nationwide. Read our letter here: https://lnkd.in/eP-VnDfz

According to a 2022 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) survey, 3.9 million American veterans have a mental illness, and 2.4 million have substance use disorders. That's too much suffering for a population that protects its country for a living. Tune back in to one of our favorite 2023 Recovery Stories Have Power episodes with Kevin Rumley, veteran and Program Director at Buncombe County Veterans Treatment Court in Asheville, NC, for a reminder that hope and healing are possible (listen now at https://ow.ly/Wrea50U4H0z). We are grateful to those who serve our communities and country, today and every day. #veteransday #mentalhealth #militarymentalhealth #veteranrecovery
