关于我们

Our vision is for the global facial difference community to live freely, without indignity or discrimination. In order to achieve our vision, our mission is to position face equality as a social justice movement. As a growing Alliance of international NGOs, our collective actions focus on: - Advocating for disfigurement to be recognised as an independent equality and human rights issue, so that the rights and protections of those with facial differences are not limited to disability laws and spaces. - Eliminating the life-limiting stigma and prejudice associated with facial difference and disfigurement through education and community-building. - Growing and amplifying an inclusive, empowered community of organisations and individuals devoted to campaigning for face equality. - Campaigning for an equitable society, ensuring people with facial differences have freedom and choice to be seen and heard on their own terms.

Our new campaign, Visibly Invisible is featured on Forbes. The article details the challenges of Facial Recognition Technology for people living with a facial difference. 'Only 21% of those with facial differences surveyed felt that banking apps work every time for them.' From being constantly overlooked by equality laws, absent from policies, or ignored in moves towards diversity and inclusion. To being erased by #ArtificialIntelligence. We're working with businesses using AI, and tech developers to address this problem. If this sounds like you, please get in touch on [email protected] https://lnkd.in/e2qwccUJ #FaceEquality #Tech #AI #FacialRecognition

  • Facial recognition technology is everywhere, from unlocking our phones to airport security. But for people with facial differences, it often doesn't work. Why? ?? Because many algorithms are trained on “typical” faces, ignoring the full spectrum of human diversity. This isn’t just an inconvenience. It can mean exclusion from essential services, security risks, and a daily reminder that technology wasn’t designed with us in mind. The solution? ?? We’re calling on Tech companies to diversify their datasets and collaborate with us at Face Equality International and the communities affected to develop more inclusive technology. Read more from AI expert Tess Buckley on why this matters and how we can drive change: https://lnkd.in/ePuvq4RN Image description: A black and white photo of Tess Buckley with a yellow paint stroke graphic and a white frame over her face. Black text in a white box says, "As we continue to integrate facial recognition technology into our society, it’s crucial that we do so in a way that doesn’t leave anyone behind."

Hey brands ?? We've got a face for radio, TV, catwalks, advertising and everything else! Nearly one in five people in the UK have a visible difference, so where is this representation when it comes to TV, film, or brand advertising campaigns? Our research finds that 54% of people with a visible difference say that brands regularly ignore them. And 64% say that adverts do not represent people with visible differences well. That’s why we're calling on brands to feature more people with a visible difference in their marketing and advertising – ending the lack of understanding and stigma that people face on a daily basis. We’re aiming to unite as many brands, agencies and media partners as possible. It’s time to make visible differences, more visible. If representation matters to you, share our campaign film with the company you work for and with, and encourage them to sign our Changing Faces Pledge: https://lnkd.in/dghziE8T

  • Do you want to make your workplace more inclusive? Our new Face Equality Workplace Training Programme gives businesses the knowledge and tools to create an inclusive environment for employees and customers with facial differences. Together, your organisation will: ?? Understand face equality whilst learning the right terminology, when (and if) to ask questions, and how facial difference impacts individuals. ?? Gain real insight and hear first-hand experiences, community stories, and expert research. ?? Get practical tools, including tips on inclusive language, customer interactions, and HR resources to embed appearance-inclusive policies.
