Exciting announcement ?? As we navigate the many complexities of the 21st century, it’s clear that our current economic systems are not equipped to tackle the pressing challenges we face—from economic inequality to environmental crises. The need for a new framework is more urgent than ever, and that’s why I’m excited to announce the launch of a new series on Ouros Economics ?? Ouros Economics is a framework I’ve been developing that integrates fundamental economic, psychological, and ecological concepts to create a more sustainable, equitable, and decentralized global economy. This series will share my ongoing research, reflections, and interpretations, as I continue to learn and build a deeper understanding of the intersections between these disciplines. I like to think of it as building a dissertation in public ?? I believe that the economic system of the future requires us to constantly question, learn from, and evolve our current economic model. This series will include literature reviews, analysis of key ideas, and discussions of how concepts from economics, psychology, sustainability, technology and philosophy can inform and reshape our understanding of what is possible in the future of global economics. The goal is not only to share insights but also to foster dialogue around these complex and evolving ideas ?? In this series, I’ll explore the fundamental building blocks of Ouros Economics and how they intersect with core principles of human behavior at the micro and macro scales. I’ll cover topics such as: 1?? How can we redesign economic systems to prioritize the long-term survival of humanity? 2?? What role does human psychology play in shaping economic behavior, and how can we use this knowledge to create systems that work for all? 3?? How can we move beyond the repetitive cycles of wealth inequality to create a more just and sustainable economy? As part of this journey, I’ll dive deep into existing literature, discuss philosophical frameworks, and explore the psychological drivers behind economic decision-making. My aim is to build a rich, ongoing dialogue that brings together diverse perspectives to help us all rethink what’s possible in the future of economics. I’m constantly learning and evolving my understanding of these topics, and I hope this series sparks thoughtful discussions and challenges the status quo. The journey is just beginning, and I’m thrilled to have you along for the ride. Stay tuned for the first set of posts, where I’ll explore the definition of economics from first principles and how it can help us design a more sustainable and equitable economic system ?? Let’s rethink economics for the future—together.

There’s an intriguing paradox in the startup ecosystem: many investors favor founding teams with multiple members, believing that diverse skills and shared responsibilities enhance a startup’s potential for success. However, data suggests that 65% of high-potential startups fail due to conflict among co-founders (Source: Entrepreneur)?? Despite this, solo founders often face challenges in securing funding. According to data analyzed by Carta, only 26% of companies have solo founders, indicating a preference for multi-founder teams. This raises the question: why aren’t more solo founders funded, especially considering the significant risk of co-founder conflict? ? As a solo founder fabricfeed. I’ve chosen this path to mitigate the risk of internal disputes that can derail a startup. This approach ensures that the company’s trajectory aligns with a singular vision, reducing the complexities that come with multiple decision-makers. While building a company single-handedly presents its own set of challenges, it also demonstrates resilience, clarity of purpose, and unwavering commitment.?? It’s essential to recognize that successful startups come in various forms. While co-founder teams can bring diverse perspectives and skills, solo founders offer focused vision and agility. Perhaps it’s time for the investment community to broaden its perspective and appreciate the unique strengths that solo founders bring to the table. This isn’t to diminish the power of great cofounder partnerships—they can be transformative. But perhaps it’s time to recognize that being a solo founder is also a valid, and often strategic, path to building something meaningful. What do you think? Should investors revisit their stance on solo founders? Let’s talk about it. ???? #StartupLife #SoloFounder #Entrepreneurship #InvestmentStrategies #StartupSuccess

?????? The market is shifting, fast, toward Vertical SaaS and AI agents that are deeply embedded in specific industries. These tools aren’t just general solutions; they’re designed to solve industry-specific problems with precision. At fabricfeed, we’re embracing this evolution by focusing on the circular fashion vertical, where the stakes for sustainability and operational efficiency couldn’t be higher. ?? Keeping up with the circular and sustainable fashion space is a tall task, but there are a few great voices here on Linkedin that help keep me in-the-know ????♂? Brittany Sierra & the Sustainable Fashion Forum provides great insights. I especially love her takes on the crossroads of sustainability, fashion and consumer psychology. I’m extremely bullish on the value of this intersection of subject matters. Ken Pucker provides global perspectives with a ton of quantitative data to back it up. I always learn something new via his posts! Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a no brainer. A leading voice in the space, providing wonderful case studies & research reports! Accelerating Circularity is awesome. Not only do they provide research reports, but it’s all derived from primary research that they capture on the ground. Textile Exchange hosts one of the best conferences in the space. And though I’ve yet to be able to attend, I’ve heard nothing but great things about them. There are many more, but I’ll stop there for now. Shameless plug to follow fabricfeed as well. We’re doing cool stuff, and cool people follow us. You should be cool too ????

So much of the excitement in the circular and sustainable fashion space today is around hard tech: cutting-edge recycling technologies (Tereform, Ambercycle, Circulose), sustainable materials, and innovative logistical services (Homeboy Threads, Debrand, MendIt?, Inc.). These investments are crucial—there’s no doubt about it. But fabricfeed’s perspective looks toward the world we’ll need after these innovators, among others, reach global scale. ?? ?? Imagine a world where recycling technologies are commonplace, sustainable materials are standard, and regulations are implemented and enforced. A world where circular fashion practices aren’t niche, but the norm—fueled by Millennial and Gen Z populations who care deeply about sustainability, climate change, and responsible consumption. That’s the future we’re building for, and while we’ll always need physical logistical support to move materials, we’ll also need digital logistical support to power the system. That’s where fabricfeed comes in. We’re creating the digital infrastructure that enables collaboration, efficiency, and real-time decision-making in circular fashion. By connecting key players—brands, recyclers, municipalities, and regulators—our platform ensures the right data reaches the right people at the right time. This isn’t just about tracking materials; it’s about empowering the industry to act strategically, stay compliant, and operate sustainably. ?? The hard tech investments of today are paving the way for an incredible future, but the digital tools we’re building are what will make that future work seamlessly. This is the infrastructure that will drive circularity forward, and I couldn’t be more excited to build it. ??

Being a solo founder is hard—full stop. But being a solo founder who isn’t from Silicon Valley, who’s a first-generation corporate professional, naturally introverted, and non-technical? That’s a whole other challenge. ?? I started fabricfeed with a clear conviction: that the fashion and textile industry needs digital solutions to power the circular economy and reduce waste in a convenient, accessible way for consumers like myself. But conviction doesn’t make the journey easier. Textile waste regulations are coming, but they’re in flux, making it hard to quantify the opportunity for what we’re building. Without a roadmap for how to navigate an emerging industry, there are moments when uncertainty feels overwhelming. ? I’ve heard “no” hundreds—maybe thousands—of times. I’ve started with no network, had to learn how to advocate for myself and my vision in rooms where I’m often the only one who looks like me, and found the strength to keep building without the technical skills to create the product myself. Yet, despite all of this, there’s an unwavering faith in the work we’re doing. Every "no" sharpens our resolve. Every barrier reminds me why fabricfeed exists: to address systemic issues, to create solutions where there are none, and to show that innovation doesn’t belong to any one group or place. ???? For anyone out there who feels like they don’t fit the mold: your perspective is your superpower. Keep going. The future doesn’t get built by people who follow the status quo—it’s built by those of us who challenge it every day.

Happy New Year, everyone! ?? As 2025 begins, I’m reflecting on the journey that’s brought me here and the exciting road ahead with fabricfeed. ?? My background in economics (through study at University of California, Davis & self-study) is focused on international macrofinance and behavioral economics. This background has always driven my curiosity about systems—how they work, where they break, and how we can build better ones. This lens has been invaluable in shaping the technology we’re building to address systemic challenges in fashion and textiles. ?? At fabricfeed we’re not just building software; we’re rethinking how economics, technology, and sustainability intersect. Our mission is to create the digital infrastructure that powers a circular economy in textiles. From real-time inventory tracking to circular project management tools, we’re tackling the inefficiencies that lead to waste and creating incentives for sustainability across the supply chain. ??This journey hasn’t been without its struggles. Building solutions for a systemic issue like textile waste requires confronting entrenched processes, limited data, and a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape. But these challenges have only solidified our belief that innovation driven by strong economic principles can create both environmental and economic value. In the coming months, I’ll be sharing: 1?? How economic theory inspires practical solutions in fashion and sustainability. 2?? Insights into fabricfeed’s approach to reimagining textiles as assets, not waste. 3?? Reflections on the systemic barriers we’ve faced—and how we’re overcoming them. I’m excited to connect with all of you on this journey toward a more sustainable future. Let’s make 2025 a year of growth, innovation, and impact—together. ?? Rachel Van Metre Kibbe Sai Allavarpu Dave de Simone Richard A. Hooper Linda Lane Corrado Basile Senesi Molly Crete Adrienne C.
