?? What an inspiring day at the Biennial of the Americas Roundtable! Today’s discussions were filled with powerful insights into the role of storytelling in shaping communities and driving change. Special thanks to keynote speaker Manuel Roig-Franzia for his thought-provoking remarks on the power of media and its far-reaching impact on perceptions across the Americas. It’s clear that storytelling is more than just entertainment; it’s a tool for transformation. Thank you to WorldDenver for being a fantastic partner and helping us get connected to Miguel! Tatiana Arguello, President and General Manager of Telemundo Denver, reminded us that "There is a big misperception that people consume Spanish-language media because they have to. This is not true. When there is content that resonates with us, and hits our hearts, we are going to stick with that. Information is power." Maria Garcia Berry, Founding Partner of CRL Associates, Inc., shared a profound moment: “I had that story in me, but I never understood the power of it until I told it.” It's a powerful reflection on how storytelling can unlock new possibilities and foster personal and collective empowerment. Jessica L'Whor, Drag Artist, Entrepreneur, and Colorado influencer agreed, sharing, “Telling my story authentically allows others to show up authentically as well.” And Laura Young of New Denizen beautifully emphasized how storytelling uplifts local businesses: “Local businesses make up the fabric and culture of every city. Storytelling has the power to uplift them and give them a place in the world.” Every story told adds to the rich tapestry of a community, reinforcing its values and helping it thrive. Thank you to all the incredible participants for making today such a success! Let’s continue pushing for positive community transformation and connection through the stories we tell.
