Project Manager at AMBIENT FLOORING INC.

Delighted to have been recently part of the completion of Louis Vuitton’s new NYC flagship store on 57th Street. The five retail floors surounding an open atrium have been iconically designed to showcase LV’s luxurious and contemporary culture. Four floors are primarily made up of CTS Cement Manufacturing Corporation’s Tru natural polishable overlay. We poured and polished this to a low gloss 200 grit finish. The install was made all the more difficult with having to pour the floor to marry in with the several differentiating heights of the pre-existing elevator sills and escalator pans on each floor. The fourth floor restaurant and bar, along with the oval spaces on each floor comprised of a hardwood floor. These wood areas had to be precisely leveled before install to support LV’s millwork and furniture details. We also worked with the LV team to layout and glue area rugs squarely with furniture and LV’s collectible items. Hats off to our Ambient and Tipp flooring teams who worked tirelessly in getting this one over the line in a very tight schedule. Also credit goes to the GC Sciame Construction, LLC who made this one possible and worked with us around the clock. This is definitely one we won’t forget lightly!

Last month, the Studio Museum in Harlem received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO), a critical step that brings us closer to the planned opening of the Museum’s new facility in Fall 2025. This project has been more than ten years in the making and will amplify the voices of contemporary Black artists as part of Harlem’s incredible cultural landscape, as well as further advance the Museum’s mission on the global arts stage.    For our team at Zubatkin, this project embodies our dedication to supporting cultural institutions and community-based planning and construction projects. We’re humbled to be part of this landmark project, and we look forward to celebrating the opening next year alongside the Museum and project team Cooper Robertson, Adjaye Associates, and Sciame Construction, LLC.
