Exciting healthcare project we’ve started down in Madison, MS! You can see the first portion of our scope of work are these prefinished exterior wall panels that include a thin brick finish! The speed gained on the schedule utilizing this system makes a tremendous impact on all the other trades and allowing them to get started much sooner. We’ll continue to showcase this project as we utilize our prefab capabilities on the interior of this space as well. On Thursday, December 5, 2024, we held our 2024 Corporate Craft Competition which consisted of the Division Craft Competition winners across the company. The division winners from our Jackson, MS office and our Memphis, TN office competed to determine who would move on to represent F.L. Crane & Sons in the ABC National Craft Championships. Addison Darby, Jackson Division Winner, has been with F.L. Crane & Sons since June of this year and he really impressed his team with his skills and abilities that he has shown as a Drywall Laborer. Humberto Flores, Memphis Division Winner, has been with F.L. Crane & Sons since February 2023 and he has excelled in his position as Drywall Mechanic. These two young men have a very bright future with F.L. Crane & Sons. Addison and Humberto were judged in the following categories: Appearance, use of materials, shaft wall framing, metal stud framing, window and door frame, furr down, and last, but certainly not least, safety. It was a very close competition, but at the end, Humberto Flores was the winner of the corporate competition. Humberto will advance to the ABC National Craft Championships which will be held February 25-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The National Craft Championships host more than 190 competitors to vie for gold in 16 competitions, with skills on display across 12 crafts. The competition objectives are to demonstrate safety along with craft interdependency and teamwork, simulate working conditions where planning is critical to success, and highlight individual leadership and workmanship skills as the project is assembled and completed. We are so excited to have Humberto represent us, and we know he will do a fantastic job.
