A simple picture can be the beginning of a solution, a simple picture is the encouragment and data people needs to solve the problem. Three years ago we started with one simple picture , Today More than 200,000 reports from almost 65 different countries have been received which led to removing hundreds of thousands tons of plastic from the ocean and shorelines thanks to Technology, people and data. But that is not all! Eyesea provides technology such satellite spectrometry to help identify pollution hotspots and connects them with clean up efforts trough our platform and network. There are remarkable solutions been developed to make for a better future, but what happens with the existing problem of ocean pollution? Policymakers and scientists propose solutions, but it is people who clean and These people need technical and commercial support to scale their efforts, EyeSea is commited to developing and bringing this solutions to local communities. It was great to share our story and solution with the Shark’s at the SHIPPINGInsight shark tank Edition in NYC. Thank you all for the opportunity! We will continue working hard to create more impactful projects around the world!
关于我们
Eyesea is a nonprofit organization with a mission to map global pollution and maritime hazards. Without proper data on maritime pollution – what and where it is – effective solutions are hard to find. In 2020 we developed the concept of using geotagged pictures to chart (‘map’ for you landlubbers) maritime pollution. Funding and support have been obtained, and our mapping solution has been developed. Those who work and play on the ocean care deeply about its health and future. Seafarers, members of the public, recreational sailors, professional mariners, fishermen, surfers, and divers all have unique access to the coast, littoral waters, the vastness of the ‘blue water’ ocean. Anyone with access to the beach can keep an eye on its health. As a community, we can help map and identify pollution simply by taking a picture through the Eyesea App. Images are important because they are quick and easy to take, and because they have a strong impact.

Tree trash. It’s a thing. Manila, the Philippines ???? #pollution #philippines #manila

Mumbai - Our Sunday clean-up drives have now expanded to include tree plantation! With every area we clean, we also plant tree saplings as part of our Clean and Green Initiative. We’ve realized that first-time volunteers now have the unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy. Each sapling planted becomes a symbol of their contribution, growing each year into a tree. Thank you for the support ! Eyesea leadership team, members and partners: Isle of Man Ship Registry , MPC Container Ships ASA, NSB GROUP, Tim Ponath , Cameron Mitchell, Constantin S. Mumbai - Every year, tons of discarded clothing find their way into landfills, rivers, and oceans, polluting the very earth we rely on. These items, once full of life and warmth, become yet another form of waste, contributing to a growing environmental crisis. But what if these clothes could have a second chance? What if, instead of ending up in a landfill, they could wrap around the shoulders of someone who needs them? What if they could protect someone from the harshness of winter, bringing warmth to a family living on the edge? This is what drives our small initiative. Join us to help us ! #clothes #ocean #pollution #eyesea Lisbon Ferrao

Mumbai - This new beach we visited was quieter than the others we've worked on—tucked away from the city, with fewer footprints but plenty of plastic washed ashore by the waves. We were joined by over 60 dedicated volunteers, many of them young children from nearby slums. Although we had recently distributed our stock of clothes and couldn’t provide for them this time, we covered their travel costs to make their journey easier. This year, we launched our “Clean and Green” initiative. For every area we clean, we’re committed to leaving a lasting impact by planting tree saplings. The children helped bring this vision to life, working side by side with us, their enthusiasm and hope breathing new life into this beautiful beach! We are grateful for all the support we’ve received to keep doing what we do best: working for the planet. #eyesea #ocean #land #pollution #sustainablity @LisbonFerrao

Beginning with its 2024 Arctic season, expedition cruise operator?Aurora Expeditions?launched its partnership with?Eyesea, an app that lets users document, report, and geotag sightings of plastic debris and other pollution in the ocean or along the shoreline. Its Citizen Science Coordinators assist participants with collecting and sharing data, which Eyesea then analyzes and maps to help inform the allocation of cleanup resources. Aurora has played a crucial role in testing Eyesea’s reporting system, as well as the accuracy of its satellite imaging spectrometry—which can help detect and locate marine plastic pollution from space—in the remote locations where its ships sail. The partnership will eventually roll out to?Aurora sailings?in other destinations. - Condé Nast, Bright Ideas in Travel 2024 Our most expansive list yet of the players, places, and projects moving the travel industry into the future. https://lnkd.in/gv63qWHw
