?? Shaping the Future ?? Day 3 of #EWOBConnect2024 featured…time travel! ??? ?? Futurist Ian Beacraft fast-forwarded us into the #futureofwork and life, immersing us in a vision of scenarios that may emerge, and giving us hands on experience with technology that will drive them. Wowww! Our brains are still buzzing! Some key takeaways: ?? Moving forward, “talent planning” needs to shift to “organizational planning” - factoring in humans, AI and automation in the same conversation. ? You fall to the level of your systems. Our systems for work are broken. ?? AI’s greatest impact is enabling workers to stay in productive flow. ? We don’t just change the landscape, we change what’s possible. ?? We’re moving into a world where tech moves exponentially and we don’t. We are linear beings…we’re not built to think in exponentials… ?? Another #EWOBConnect2024 highlight: We pulled off an extraordinary surprise – a #crisis simulation - where attendees were dropped right in the thick of a cyber attack. Guided by #cybersecurity incident response experts Raymond Umerley and Lizzie Cookson from Coveware, our Members did what they do best: ?? navigated their way through by drawing on experience and tapping their collective wisdom to craft strategic responses in real time. It was a powerful opportunity to dig into one of the top #boardroom #risk areas, practice #resilience, and see how #collaboration can bring creative and diverse solutions to a #challenge. A few key takeaways (there were many!): ?? Have the relationships that you need, before you need them! (And have the playbook and contact information accessible in hard copies, too). ?? Get clarity about the role of the board, the role(s) individual board directors could play, and the process for making decisions for the many strategic tradeoffs that will come up. ?? As the clock ticks with required #disclosures, outreaches, and perhaps #ransomware deadlines, anticipate the communication plan with key stakeholders and ensure they stay top of mind, including employees, customers, and the supply chain.
